IM6 Graphite Rods,March 21, 2006
By Man going Toggin'from Norfolk, Va
"I was in BPS Hampton, Va. yesterday and saw these rods for a great deal. I bought 2 of them and went fishing. I have never seen nor tried for a musky but these rods worked great in saltwater fishing for tautog. For those who are unfamiliar, tog they are hard running down deep fighters, with a sensative bight. The rod had enough backbone to handle 6-8oz of lead and still get them out of the rocks/wreckage,as well as a light enough tip to feel their soft nibble. This rod landed several Tog in the 5lb range and 1 in the 12. Great investment. going to purchase a couple more."

Best All Around Rod I Have,December 13, 2008
By Bluewater
"I am a wildlife biologist and guided in the past. I have used this rod for several years and the 6'3" rod is the only light weight inexpensive rod I have found that will take 40 lb line. I have caught several 150+ lb sharks, cobia, cuda, snapper, and kings on this rod with a 7000 abu reel. Although the reel has gone up some in price it is still worth the money. I currently have 4 of them. The only change I have made is to add a gimbal at the end for my fighting belt. I have had used them hard and they are all still working great."

Serious Bang for the Buck,August 23, 2008
By MedicMikefrom Northern New Jersey
"Got a Bass Pro gift certificate for my birthday-I was looking for a good all-around inshore rod for use in NJ. I have now used it twice for fluke [summer flounder] fishing in the ocean-holy cow! I have the 7' medium-heavy action model-very sensitive and very light in weight. It had plenty of backbone to handle 8oz sinkers in strong currents and to lift 4lb fluke off of the bottom in 50+ feet of water. The ONLY reason I don't give it 5 stars is that I would like to see a double-ring locking reel seat. To spend any more on a rod is silly. I will definitely be purchasing another one of this model as well as others meant for lighter work."

great rod for the money,June 21, 2008
By fishstickfrom texarkana, texas
"I BOUGHT 3 OF THESE RODS TO FISH FOR BIG BLUE CATFISH IN THE RED RIVER HERE IN SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS. I HAVE NOT BEEN DISAPPOINTED WITH THEM AT ALL. I HAVE HAULED IN 35 POUNDERS WITH EASE. I DON'T THINK THAT THESE RODS ARE BLANK THROUGH HANDLE BUT HAVE HAD NO TROUBLE WITH BREAKAGE."

love the rod,August 17, 2007
By frenchrivermuskyfrom long island NY
"I have three of them. I leave two up on the French river at the lodge (flying with a one pice rod is tuff) and keep one here at home for Ocean Fluke and Black fish. I pick one up every time I pass the BPS store in Toronto and give them to the lodge guides as gifts. They love them too! Buy with confidence hundreds of casts throwing bull dawgs and catching big fish without a problem. No need to spend more"

"Kevin and i have these rods and boy are they hot. We catch tiger muskies left and right(mainly Kevin). Not just for Muskie in New England,July 11, 2006
By Lynch68from Long Island Sound, CT
"I use this rod often for several species. Most common would be for "Fluke" Summer Flounder in Long Island Sound. The rod has great comfort w/the cork grips and trigger. Terrific sesitivity, and strength for the doormats. Also used for Blues, Porgies, and Blackfish. Very confident rod with great comfort for fishing all day long."

BEST ALL AROUND ROD FOR THE PRICE,May 15, 2006
By rpbluettfrom long island,new york
"if you were to purchase the components and build the rod yourself it would cost well over $100.i have used this rod here in the N.E. for blackfish to 12#,fluke to 8#,stripers to 35#,and bluefish to 16# using lead up to 12 oz.this is the best all around rod i have found, light, sensitive yet has plenty of backbone.i have purchased 3 of them and know 20 other anglers who consider this rod a "must have" for that price, you just cant go wrong."

My first BPS musky rod,March 17, 2006
By Jackfrom Illinois
"I'm new to musky fishing. I've only caught two and they were small, but have had follows. Big ones. Thats how I got hooked on musky fishing. I do not have a lot of money to spend on fishing, and musky tackle is expensive. I saw the ad for the B.P.S 6foot 3inch musky rod. I thought this would be a great deal. In the back of my head I thought be carefull, you get what you paid for. I ordered the rod anyway. Shure enough I was fishing for musky. Verry early. I had a small 6 inch jake on and I was casting arround the docks. I gut a big tug on my line(bigger than any tug I've had before) I tugged back to set the hook and the rod snapped. Needless to say I was shocked as heck that the rod snapped that easy. I had the fish on for about 15sec. past the rod snap and then lost it.About 6 inches snapped of the 6 foot 3 inch rod on a hook set. I lost a big fish. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER B.P.S. GS IM-6 ROD AGAIN.I don't get enough chances to go fishing for musky and accually catch one to over look equipment failure. I hope B.P.S. has a good exchange policy. This rod is only 2mo. old and broke on its first hook set.(first time out this year)"
