It works but takes time, September 17, 2009
By neck from Indiana

Advantages: Quality

"I bought the smaller unit to work a plot that was about 1 1/2 acres. It did the job but I needed more time than i had planned because it took about three passes to get a good cut into the soil. In areas that were harder packed it took a couple more than that. I think next year it should be an easier job.

I used a Honda 4*4, 420 and it pulled it fine except when we got some rain and had a small uphill grade. I did add about 80pounds to the disc and that helped it dig in but it was too much when it got wet...no surprise.

Dont expect miracles but if you take the time and go slowly you should be able to get the job done.

"Firstly, this product does do the job, it is the how that I have a real gripe with. The manual is basically an assembly manual. You are not shown how to operate the ATVD at all - well maybe it is so easy you should need one however, to adjust either the depth or angle of the blades is a real mission. The ratchet which moves the wheels up or down is almost impossible to move - I had to eventually take the ratchet off and loosen the bolts to raze the wheels. I still have no idea how you are meant to move the angle of the blades by shifting a 400 pound unit forwards or backwards and then putting in the bolt for the required angle.
If I had to buy this product again I would DEFINITELY buy the electric ratchet. I made two foodplots as you can see below, in the MN Iron Range, 20 miles from the nearest town or person.

Best disc ever purchased, April 1, 2008
By Anonymous

"I bought this disc to replace a smaller flip over disc I had purchased several years ago.
When it arrive I took it straight to the farm to disc 4 miles of fire breaks. These fire breaks were just created by the forestry service so they were still rough with some stumps left and rocks and roots exposed. That disc did a great job. I purchased the 64 inch wide model. You can adjust the wheels to roll on the ground when you are on tough terrain. No more rocking or bouncing with this disc.
I would recommend this product to anybody. When they say tough toys for tough boys they are correct.

Tuffline Disc, February 7, 2008
By Okiehogtrapper from Oklahoma

"Very well built disc. Heavy gauge metal all around. I live in Oklahoma and tried the disc for the first time on some unplowed ground with a lot of weeds. I bought the heavier model and have a Grizzley 660. The disc towed great down the dirt road leading to the food plot. I have been seeing a lot of deer in a remote unplowed field for years and decided to put in a small plot (50' x 200'). The disc has 3 settings. I had to score the ground on the first setting and go no faster than 3 mph. Speeds faster than that caused the disc to rock from side to side. After an hour of scoring the ground, I put the pin in the 3rd setting and was impressed at the cutting power of the disc. It had no problems turning over the ground. Later in the day I tried the disc on some ground that had been plowed the year before. I had to put my Grizzley in 4wd as the disc sank deep into the ground. I could not believe the difference in the plowed ground vs. the unplowed ground. If you are using this disc on ground that has already been plowed, you will need to use the wheels as a depth gauge. The turnbucke operates smooth and the coupler is adjustable for any size 4 wheeler. Backing up is impossible with the disc blades dug in. If you are using this disc on ground that has already been plowed, you will have no problems. Unplowed ground will take a while to break up and turn over."

Tufline ATVD, October 16, 2007
By pleasantly surprised from Covington, La.

"Great product. Very well built. Cut the hard dry dirt I had to cut. Tows down the roads on the lease very nicely, just don't go too fast. I got the smaller of the two and did not need to add any weight to it. We disced about 2 acres all total and had no problems. Pulled it with a 400 4x4 in low gear 4 wheel drive. I would recommend this to anyone who has no need for a tractor and really does not want to spend the money on one. After all it, is built to Mossy Oak specs and you know they will build it right."

Highly Recommended, October 2, 2007
By Rick from Georgia

"I recently purchased this disk harrow and I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a need for a garden or for hunters planting food plots. I live in GA and I was able to plant two food plots without too much trouble. My area of GA is about 19" below normal rainfall year to date and I thought I'd have a lot harder time putting in some fall plots without borrowing a tractor and a full-sized harrow. Its been a full year since these areas were plowed and even though the ground was extremely hard, this plow handled it pretty well. I have a 420cc so I purchased the smaller (lighter) of the 2 plows. After using it, I think my 4x4 could handle the heavier one just fine. The two limitations I've found are 1) the turning radius of your 4x4. Reverse actually works, but its a pain and 2) Rocks in the soil. I found it worked best to plow for a while and then dismount and throw out the rocks. Next year should be much easier."

Tough Little ATV Plow, September 20, 2007
By ASH from Memphis, Tennessee

"I bought the large plow in August 2007 and pull it behind a Rhino 450. This plow is really tough, simple to use and virtually indestructible. It has 4 grease fittings. It really does an excellent job turning over the earth, even dry, hard, or rocky soil is no problem. There is no need to add any additional weight to the plow. It weighs about 500lb, but the weight distribution is such that it is easy to lift up the tongue of this plow and connect it to an ATV. Slow ATV speeds of 3-4 mph while plowing appear to yield the best results. I ordered this plow one day, the company built thed plow the second day and shipped it on the third day. I received the plow on the fourth day after placing my order. Now that is real service. I now have 20 acres of beautiful food plots--some in large fields and some in some really tight and out of the way places in the deep woods. I highly recommend this product without any reservations and I would not hesitate to buy it again."

Disc, June 14, 2007
By The Colonel from Warner Robins, GA

"Excellent product-used it several times under BONE DRY conditions and it works like a champ. You can even pull it with a small truck such as a Ranger 4X4. Recommend to all serious hunters looking to create food plots for deer/turkey."

great tool, February 19, 2007
By Anonymous

"I bought the heavier one and pull it behind my Grizzly with no problem at all. This is a great product, that is simple to use. The ratcheting adjustment of the height of the disc blades is very easy and convienent. The only assembly neccessary is bolting on the tounge, and that's only 2 bolts. Very rugged machine that does an excellent job! A+"

It works fine, December 11, 2006
By KevinOK from OK

"I have the lighter one now for 2 planting seasons, wish I had gone with the heavier one but all I do is put 2 bags of sand on top and bungy them down. If the soil was not so compact and dry the extra weight would not be needed. It does work just fine, good investment for food plots."

ATV Disc 350cc and below, October 3, 2006
By er2c from Morganza, LA

"I got mine about 3 weeks ago. It was delivered on time and in good condition. I used it behine a Honda 350 in low gear and it performed better than the high end disc which the club rented to disc other plots. I and every other member thought it was worth every penny I spent to get it . The plot is perfect."

Food Plots are Easy, September 8, 2006
By Widowmaker from Carthage, Tennessee

"I have used this plow behind a Bombardier 400 HO for the past two years. I never had food plots because the area in which I hunt is very hilly and makes it difficult (if not impossible) to get a tractor where you want the plots. After getting this plow, I have food plots everywhere on the farm I want. I have even used it to make a backwoods trail into a food plot. It breaks the ground with little or no problem even in very dry climate. I only wish I had purchased this earlier. Now I'm look really hard at the trail rake."

no tractor, no problem with this disc, July 25, 2006
By jseiler from rockingham county, northcarolina

"I own 20 acres of land with a half acre food plot on the center of my property. I recently invested in this disc. It is a solid piece of equipment. I was able to disc up my foodplot with no problems. I pull the disc with a yamaha bruin 350 2 wheel drive atv. I used to worry about where I could get a tractor to borrow each season to plow my field, not anymore. If you dont want to invest a bunch of money on a tractor, this piece of equipment is the way to go."
