Killer Rifle,November 20, 2009
By GrasshopperSlimfrom North Carolina
Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality
"I bought this rifle about four years ago and have no regrets. I mounted a matching Nikon Prostaff 3x9 scope on it, and it has never failed me and continues to perform well. I love the ease in which it can be cleaned and it's performance in the deer woods. My 11 year ond son killed his first deer with it last year and my brother killed a very nice North Carolina 10 pointer with it last Saturday on opening day. He is thinking of purchasing one for himself. Check out the photo of him and his deer. I like the light weight characteristics of the rifle and how it handles in the woods. It is almost like carrying a 22 rifle to the deer stand. In the last four years I have taken over 15 deer with it, and it has never "snapped" or failed to fire.. I can leave it loaded for a week at a time and it still fires flawlessly....just like a center fire rifle. I would definately recommend this gun to anyone who is serious about hunting deer. 2 thumbs up for this one!!"

Best For the Money,June 28, 2009
By Oraclefrom Florida
Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality
"I bought my Omega a couple of weeks ago, Mounted the Nikon Omega scope and went to the range. I aimed the open sights at the target and adjusted my scope to match. My first shot was 3' inches from the center. Two more shots to dial it in and five more in the bullseye at 100 yards. What an incredible gun this is. Can't wait to put the crosshairs on something furry!!!"

Great Inline,May 13, 2009
By Sooner1fanfrom Oklahoma
Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money Disadvantages: accuracy between cleanings
"The TC Omega is a great inline muzzle loader. If have used this gun for the past 4 years and it performs great under most conditions. The only compliant I have is the the accuracy after you have shot the gun multiple times without cleaning which is true for most muzzle loaders. I have had better luck with using the 777 powder and caps."

An Amazing Rifle,May 13, 2009
By Anonymousfrom O'Fallon, MO
"I have never been sorry for my purchase of this rifle. It never fails me. Incredible accuracy. I purchased the black Omega Z5 with blue barrel and I have found that the Hornady SSTs with red polymer tip teamed up with the Nikon Omega Scope with BDC reticle is a winning combination, every time. Now, if you want something pretty, then get something else; but, if you want dependability and consistent bullet placement, you're not going to do any better than this rifle. I do not generally recommend any commercial product; but in this case, I heartily give a 100% recommendation."

Best I've ever had,January 17, 2009
By Arrowandpowderfrom alabama
"I really like this rifle. It shoots better than any blackpowder rifle I have ever had. I have three BP's now. I was amazed at how clean it shoots also. No powder beyond the breech plug at all. With thompson shockwave,200 grain,100 grains of triple 7 powder, and shooting from sand bags I was able to shoot and the holes were either touching or 1.5 groups at 100 yards. I would like to have another one just to have a backup but I don't think I will need it. Great gun."

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? GET ONE NOW,December 21, 2008
By supremeweasel67from Clarksville, Tn
"I have always been a "Tradional" Muzzleloader. I guess because that was what I started with. I really couldn't see any reason to spend "all that money" on something that was a little easier to clean. Boy did I have my facts wrong!!!! I actually won my TC Omega from Buckmasters in their Gear Grab Giveaway. Must admit that I had to find someone to school me in the ways of "these fancy inlines" After my lesson, I was hooked. Imagine what Jerimah Johnson could of done with one of these things. I actually enjoyed my TC Omega so much, I used it thru the regular gun season. I played with different powder charges, and bullets, and came to rely on the ones I use now. With the right powder charge and certain bullets, a 250-300 yard shot is not out of the question with this thing. Now I do recommend that you get the Nikon Omega to throw on here if you plan to do those shots. I have let a couple of people shoot my TC Omega and every one of them has been impressed. 1 even went the next day and bought one. I know there have been improvements in muzzleloaders since I have gotten mine, but I think this will last until I am no longer able to shoot it. This sure beats the day where a 75 yard shot with a "Traditional" was something, and anything over 100 yards was pressing your luck. Yes, I know it can be done, I still use my "Traditional", but when I am headed to the woods for meat, or for a "Big Daddy" that I have seen, this gun is usually with me, even if modern gun season is in. If you are headed to one of those states that does not allow modern gun hunting, but does allow shotgun, or muzzleloader, get you one of these. Try different rounds, and powders/charges, get the Nikon Omega scope, and I think you will be very impressed. I know I was. The only thing I could think of to make this better, was if they offered it in a cylinder six shot rifle. LOL!!!"

Omega - "OH MY",August 28, 2008
By IRISHPETEfrom INDIANA
"What a great muzzleloader. I bought mine 4 years ago. It's tough and accurate. I don't know exactly how many deer this gun has brought down, but it is a bunch. I let two of my nephews use it on some of their hunts and each of them have since purchased their own Omega. Easy to shoot, easy to clean. What more can you ask for."

very finicky on loads & bullets,February 1, 2008
By retiredintnfrom Tennessee Home of the UT Vols
"I just purchased a TC omega on one of those end of season sales. I couldn' t wait to try it. The fit and finish was great and the rifle felt like it was made for me when I put it to my shoulder. First I read the safety booklet that came with it. I have been shooting muzzleloaders for over 30 years so I know which end to load from. After cleaning and checking the trigger pull, ( a crisp 3 and 1/2 pounds on my RCBS scale, no creep but a little heavy for me.) I loaded with 80gr 777 and one of the TC cheap shot bullet & sabot I like the fiber optic sights but the front is a little to big for me. At 50yds from the bench and sand bags my first shot was 3 inches high and 4 inches left. I spit swabbed the bore and reloaded the same way. 80gr 777 volumetric measure equals 62.5gr on my powder scale so I weigh my loads. I didn't change anything and fired 2 more times trying to duplicate each shot. I looked through my spotting scope after each shot and I didn't like what I was seeing. About a 6 inch spread @ 50 yds. I have a Savage and 2 Winchester front loaders that will beat this @ 200 yds. I tried different powder and shot combinations the remainder of the day( I'm retired and no longer worry about what day of the week etc.) I decided to install a scope to see if it is my eyes or something else. I mounted a Thompson Center gorilla grip base and rings and a Sightron II 4X12X44 After bore sighting and being reasonably sure I would be on paper @ 100yds I loaded with 100gr 777 and the 250gr Hornady. 1st. shot was 12" high but right in line. After another 4 shots and a 6 inch spread I loaded the 5 TC 250gr shockwaves that came with the rifle with 90gr 777 and fired checking each time. The first 3 were in the same hole, the next 2 were at the same height but about 3 inches right. All were 4 inches low but the first 3 were dead in line. I didn't have any more shock waves so I have quit for now. Maybe it just likes the shockwaves because I have tried everything in my inventory and nothing seems to be consistant except being inconsistant. I shall continue to work on the loads because I believe the rifle is capable of much more than what I have done thus far. retiredin tn."

Best I ever shot,January 18, 2008
By deercampjunkiefrom SOUTHWEST MISSOURI
"Through the years i have had a few muzzle loaders but none have been as accurate as this Omega.I used a 245 grain power belt bullet with two 50 grain pellets of Shockeys gold powder with most groups 1.5 inches at one hundred yards. The clean up was so easy I've taken the gun out of the case twice just to make sure I did it right.Thompson has made a fine gun that I thank any one would enjoy shooting and still MADE IN THE U S A !"

GREAT GUN,January 4, 2008
By mpmpfrom michigan
"I spent a little more money than i wanted to on my lamnated thumbhole Omega, but it has proven to be the best gun that I own. Definitly worth the money. I muzzleload all deer season long, even during shotgun, in a big hunting family, and havnt come across another kind of muzzleloader with the same highquality craftmenship, or low maintenance.I would definitly recommend this gun to anyone looking to make a long term investment in one muzzleloader. highly accurate inside 200 yds with a 245power belt. Preforms flawlessly every time, in ANY weather. Cant wait till next season."

Best muzzleloader I have ever used,December 11, 2007
By fredschooldeerhunterfrom Fredonia, NY
"I go to college currently and I love to hunt. Killed many deer over the years. Lots of big bucks. I always borrowed muzzle loaders from friends and by far t/c is the best muzzle loader dealer out there. I just purchased the Omega and right out of the box it was sighted in. Incrediable. I looked at many reviews on this gun and people claim the best load for the gun is 150 grains of powder, usually triple 7, with a 250 grain bullet, usually shock waves or hordady's ballistic tip. Can't wait to try it out."

Omega it's what harvests dinner,December 3, 2007
By HeritageLakerfrom Indiana
"Don't bother with anything other than an inline if your state allows them. I took my Omega during our firearms season. I have a TC thunderhawk with the same accuracy but it is not nearly as easy to clean. I loan my Thunderhawk to my Father-in-law during blackpowder season. The Omega is a dream to clean (with triple 7) and is quite accurate. I have taken it out to 150 yards with Hornaday sabots and can get 5 inch groupings. 100 yards in with a Bushnell Banner scope and your 1-2 inch groupings usually better. I often shoot my buddies target right through his shots at 80 yards."
