"The product was purchased to mount a humminbird 900 series sounder. It is strong, light and easy to mount. Will have to wait to see if the nylon stands constant sun light."

Advantages: Style/Design, Performs well, Quality
Disadvantages: Difficult to use
"I guess I really didn't pick up on the fact this item was not exactly what I meant to purchase. I have had Johny Ray bases previously and I have had excellent luck with them. This particular piece however is not what I expected. My previous units had a push button release. This is what I had expected. This unit is just a spring release. Push hard to seat it in the base and pull hard to remove it. I have no problems either way, but again for those who are not as able, there may be problems physically. My biggest complaint is I have to be careful when removing it to keep from smacking my expensive GPS/Sonar unit on the windshield (or my fingers) when the unit is removed from the lower socket. The push button or lever would be much better in any application."

"I bought one of these about five years ago from BassPro because I wanted to know how deep the water was when I was up front using the trolley motor (my boat had no front depth finder), and the main fish finder was mounted facing the driver.
This was the only swivel mount that I could find that would fit my widescreen fish finder, and it was a great buy! Installation was a breeze and the entire unit is very sturdy and solid. It has made me a better angler by enabling me to turn my main finder towards me when I’m up front using the trolley motor, and has survived through very rough waters when running my boat.
It quickly detaches for easy storage when not in use; I couldn’t imagine not having it with me!
