TOO EXPENSIVE

Advantages: Ease of use
Disadvantages: Quality, Durability, price
"This product tends to rot very fast. By the end of the season I find myself having to buy more to conceal my position. This is also very expensive, I buy mine at another store for ten dollars."

camo made better

,
November 30, 2011

Advantages: Durability, Performs well, Value for money
"I use a lot of camo, we have about 6 blinds set up and do not take them down. The sun, wind, rain and snow will destroy them in a year. Here is a better way. I buy cheap preservative on sale and soak the new camo in a big bucket. Be warned it will take 2-3 months of airing to get the smell out but it will leave. The trick is to sun the burlap for a few days after soaking on a fence, until the fabric is dry, then just leave it out in the rain etc. The smell will leave. This burlap will last for several years. After preserving burlap I find the wind beats it up more than the sun and rain. Without preservative you get one season the most two if you leave it out, if you are lucky. The preservative must have protection against the sun in it, most do. Oh, the burlap has to be soaking so get it well saturated, if you try and skimp with the liquid the burlap will break down earlier. I have a bucket big enough to do 3 burlaps it takes about 3 preservative gallons to do the job. I pull the burlap out one at a time and let it drip back into the bucket. When done I capture about a half gallon of preservative and store it until needed. The burlap is heavier and holds up to the wind better ... but the wind will eventually break it down. Burlap turns a little darker but final color is good for my area. Obviously, if you take the camo burlap down at the end of season ... don't bother going through this. Some preservatives leave a stronger smell and are harder to get out than others but eventually the smell will leave. I have private land so I can leave it out all year. Good luck."

waste of money

,
November 17, 2011
By EL09
from Central FL
Disadvantages: Performance
"Don't waste your time picking out a camo pattern with this stuff. I built a cover for my canoe out of this material and when it gets wet all of the ink bleeds out into a slimy mess. All you are left with is a piece of brown burlap cloth with no camo pattern. After going and spray painting everything again I'm hoping I have something I can use for duck hunting.
Also if you cut any of the ends you better find a way to seal them or it unravels."

"I don't like to use this for deer hunting because it gives off an odor, not an offensive one but just one that isn't natural. I used it to cover my kayak when I had it setting beside a cotton field when hunting a pond and it blended right in."

Price online not what was paid in store

,

Advantages: Ease of use
Disadvantages: Durability, poor value for the money
"Advertised as burlap mesh for $15 bucks online, however I purchased same material in store for $24. It was wrapped up tight so I thought that it would be a pretty durable material, when I put it on the ladder stand I didn't even need to cut it, I ripped it with my fingers. Cheap tissue like material, it is pretty though."

Blind Material that lasts

,
August 9, 2010
By fear
Advantages: Ease of use, Durability, Performs well
Disadvantages: has an odor but goes away after a while.
"We usually leave our ladderstands up year round in SW Georgia, hot, hummid and sunny days during the summer months. We place this burlap around our stands and seems to last the longest, holds it's color the longest and usually replace every other year. If we took our stands down and stored them out of the weather this burlap would last twice as long. Good product."

"I have used this product for a couple of years and it works great. You can hang it on a couple of tree limbs or across a fallen log to conceal you.
Several times deer have come up within 10 feet of me before noticing me.
My suggestion would be to make sure you air it out before you use it for 1 week.
Lightweight too!

Just ok for a blind.

"I've used this for my blinds in the tree and found you have to double up or the deer can spot your movement against the ski-light. Also, a lot of dust type stuff comes off from it the first year using it. It would kind of get in my throat and did make me cough a little. It might not bother anyone else, but not being a smoker, anything like the dust type stuff would bother me."

Worked like a charm

"I used this for the first time last weekend for opening weekend of deer gun season. Set it up right out of the wrapper. I used zip ties to attach it between 2 cedar trees in a wind block near the edge of my hunting spot. Had multiple deer each day walk through the field and never knew I was there. Easy to handle and blended in very well to my situation. Even had deer run towards me after shooting and missing because they had no idea where I was. Hides movement effectively. Have yet to find out how it stands up to high winds though. Will find out this weekend when I check it after several days of 20+ mgh winds. Buying more just in case. Great buy! Cheap and easy!"

"Cheap and easy ta use --- anybody can easily set up a blind without all the hassle of havin to carry bulky tents or blinds into the woods. A bit stiff at first and does have somewhat of a "factory smell" but if washed then left out for two or three days --- works like a charm."

Best for the money by far

"As my pappy always used to say..."Keep it simple, stupid." and this blind material does everything you need a blind to do without getting all fancy. If you are covered by something that the deer see every day or every time they move by, they couldnt care less if you spent $15 or $200 for your blind.
My only suggestion is to open it up and put it outside for at least a week to let it air out before putting it out in the woods.
