Designed to deliver lures and heavy sinkers far past the breakers to a distant target, these spinning rods have already won high praise from anglers and tournament casters. This is a game of balance, leverage, accuracy, and raw power that leaves lesser rods in splinters. These rugged two-piece 60% graphite/30% glass composite blanks offer the right combination of light weight and instant flex recovery, and are equipped with double-wrapped Fuji® aluminum oxide guides, Fuji heavy-duty gunsmoke cushioned-hood reel seats, and EVA-flanked rubberized composite cork handles for enhanced handling in wet conditions.

28 lb Cat landed with the Ocean Master 12 ft. Heavy
"With this rod in 12 ft. Heavy action size paired with Diawas Emblem Pro 5500 I am slinging 8 oz. up to 100 yards or more. I've landed several large Mississippi River catfish on this rod with not even the slightest problem. All I can say is super rod."

"The 10' and 11' versions are fairly stiff and powerful when casting 3-5oz rigs, though certainly capable of casting heavier weight. Good feel and sensitivity, but don't waste this great rod for the small stuff - 'bait big' and go long where the rod is designed to excel... Much better deal than the St. Croix's and Lamiglas. 'Combined with a Shimano Spheros 8000, the 10' is my rod of choice 2-3 times a week.... Only negative is the need for strong 8' and 9' models in the product line."

Best Quality for the Dollar,April 1, 2006

"There are 2 classes of Surf rods: There are the cheap fiberglass models which shatter under strain, offer zero sensitivity, and are terrible at casting the heavier weights surf fishermen demand. Then there are the ultra-expensive graphite models which are great rods, but you have to take out a mortgage to buy one and you sacrifice strength for sensitivity. There is a perfect middle-ground, though, and that is the Ocean Master Surf rod. Light, strong, sensitive, and affordable; this is the rod for any surf fisherman wanting to take it to the next level. Leave the whiting behind, say goodbye to croakers, and forget about snapper blues: these rods are built for the big boys. Bull Redfish, Stripers, Sharks, Tarpon, you name it. You can cast a mile to the outer sandbar with these rods, which are made to throw heavier leads. One drawback is that there are no lighter-class rods in this series for casting jigs and spoons for medium-class fish like pompano, spanish mackeral, jack crevalle, etc. Bottom Line: the best affordable heavy casting rod on the market, but needs a lighter series."
