"I recently upgraded my bait tank in my boat to a livewell system using a Mayfair Livewell aerating pump. This is an outstanding pump and works extremely well. I have never had any problems with the system. The pump is installed through a fitting in the transom and easily pumps up to the tank in the bow of the boat.. I know some others have complained about getting the pump to prime, but I have never had that issue. My system works great and I am extremely happy with it. I fish at least twice a week and the system is used every time I go out."

"I had to replace mine, so I went to Bass Pro to find a replacement. This was the closes one I could find, I almost did not get it because it wasn't the same. I am glad I did, it was easy to install and it works great, I have to remind myself I have it on or it will overfill my livewell."

I was not happy with this pump,March 15, 2008

"This is the pump that was originally installed on my boat for the livewell, and I could never get it to pump for more than a few seconds at a time. I was told by the boat manufacturer that I needed to back the boat up to prime the pump and get it flowing. When I did this, it would work, but as soon as I would go forward, I would loose the flow.
This eventually burned the pump out, so I bought a replacement cartridge and moved the pump body down lower. Moving it would put it below the water line and hopefully keep it primed. This was only marginally better, So I ended up buying a completely different brand of pump, and my problems were solved.
This pump just would not work for me."

"These pumps work great, are compact and are a great idea. Once installed all you would need to do in the event the pump eventually failed is pop out the old cartridge and put the new one in without any major removal and reinstallation issues. I have had these pumps in my bass boat for over 6 years. The only problem is that the merchants that sell this style of pump do not carry the replacement cartridges and that is the reason for the three star rating. I have one of my 750's in need of replacing and it appears I have to buy the whole pump assembly rather than the cartridge which would be cheaper. Afterall, that is the whole idea behind this product."
