Finally An Inexpensive Great Spare Tire Mount,June 14, 2007

"I've been looking for about 1 year for a decently priced well made spare tire mount for my boat trailer. I Bought this about 1 week ago and it only took about 10 minutes to install. Comes with 2 sets of U-Bolts (2 long and 2 short length) so that you don't have to cut off any thread that sticks out to far like some of the other mounts. It uses nylock type locking nuts to tighten the U-bolts on to the trailer so there should be no problem with it loosening up later on. The kit also comes with 2 nuts, washers and lockwashers to mount the spare to the studs. Only thing that could be better was the installation paperwork shows the U-Bolts crossing each other but when you have a 4X3 inch trailer frame like mine, you have to install them parallel to each other. For $28.00 its a great buy."

Great for my tongue mount application,March 4, 2007

"I purchased this mount yesterday at Bass Pro in St. Louis. Mounted it this morning. Easy to mount no need to modify, cut u-bolts or any of that. I mounted it on the tongue of my jon boat trailer for use with 5 bolt 4.80" x 12" spare in the 3x3 cross u-bolt pattern as pictured. Giving you have enough cleareance between the rear of your trailer and fender for your tire size don't see why it wouldn't provide a terrific side mount for any small utility trailer. 2 sets of u-bolts for mounting on any 2x3, 2x4, 3x3, or 3x4 frame just use the 2 bolts that match your frame size. Mounts to frame with 2 u-bolts very secure. Also, uses 2 lug bolts for mounting tire. Only wish it came with a spare tire lock or cable lock for the price. Hardest part about this installation was finding my ratchet and socket set. Took about 10 minutes to mount, once I found my tools."
