The perfect little heater,February 16, 2009

"I have a Portable Buddy that we take camping with us in early spring and late fall to keep the tent warm at night, and it does an exceptional job at that. Other than that, it just sat on the shelf most of the year, until about 2 weeks ago.
I have a little 3-seasons room that had one of those electric "fireplace" heaters in it, and it would keep the room just warm enough so that we could watch movies out there in the winter. Two weeks ago, that heater burned out, so I ended up pulling out the Portable Buddy expecting it to just take the edge off of the chill. To my surprise, it actually kept the room warmer than the old electric heater did.
The Portable Buddy is now a permanent fixture in that room, and I'll buy another one for camping. I'm also going to buy the adapter hose for the 20# tank to use in my 3-season room, so that we don't have to change propane tanks mid-movie. This is an excellent heater!"

"Went on a Hog hunt this past weekend. Was hunting out of Box Blinds, and each blind had one of these in it. Temps were in the 20s and 30s with a 10-15 mph wind. There were 2 of us in the blind and this was set up on the floor between us. Did an excellent job of keeping us warm. Did not seem to scare the hogs or deer, actually had a deer walk right under the blind, while this thing was going full blast. We did not have the Large tank, we were using the small tanks that come with the unit.
I will be picking one of these up, for next years deer season to use in my pop up blind, or ladder stand with skirting."

"Purchased this heater from Bass Pro Shop for an October tent camping trip where temperatures were expected to drop into the upper 30's. I was very skeptical about using a propane heater in the tent due to carbon monoxide poisoning. When the Bass Pro Shop sales rep told me he was a retired fire department captain, I took his word and felt safe using the heater inside our tent. After all, I figured he would be the one to know! Well, temperatures dropped to 34 degrees and with the heater on low, the tent was a nice and comfortable 51 degrees. We were a little short of propane so we just ran it on low, which required me to change the tank at 4:00 AM! After changing the tank, I cranked the heater up to high and the tent warmed to about 60 degrees! The heater is very quiet and there is no odor what so ever. In addition, the glow from the heater provides a nice little nightlight!
I would strongly recommend purchasing the hose adapter and getting a 20-pound propane tank to place outside the tent because waking up to a cold heater at 4:00 AM to replace the one-pound tank is no fun!"

"I bought this heater for a yearly winter campout with my 2 girls (6 and 8) and my brother and his 2 girls (ages 9 and 13). It exceeded my expectations regarding performance. The first night it kept the tent tolerable and the second night comfortable inside a 10X14 summer tent. I was more impressed when I found out the low temps were 19 F on the first night and 27 F on the second night. It was easy to use and performed beyond expectations. Worth every penny I spent."

"I got the first model a lot of years back, and love how much it would heat. When they came out with bigger unit with a fan, I got that one too. I use it all winter hunting the December season and in my shed when working on my little projects. The fan is fairly quiet, and it don't spook the deer. "This Heater is a a wonderful product. I have own one of these unites for a good eight years and it still work's great after all this time. Also is still putting out plenty of heat. I tent camp in a family size tent. and on a 36 degree Night I awoke up with the blanket and sleeping bag trussed off of me on the ground And still feeling just commutable warm. At worse there was just barley a small Chile in the air. a good buy for the money. Considering when I got mine years ago this heater was available shortly for the first time and 35 dollars more for it than."
