good for the money

Advantages: Ease of use, Value for money
Disadvantages: poor in rough water
"i use these at Lake Cumberland for stripers and other lakes for hybirds. They work pretty good unless water is real rough. The releases included are junk though, buy some red devil releases. These boards are ok for the money."

Yellow birds

Disadvantages: Performance
"Bought several to striper fish with trolling live bait. Not very pleased with performance at low trolling speeds and pulling live baits! Puling live bait for stripers I like to troll around.5 to .8 mph. That slow, these boards dont plane out where they should and just want to DRAG behind the boat and get tangled up. If you run up around 1.3 to 1.7 they actually work alright, but way to fast too pull live bait and keep it at your desired depth. You get what you pay for,......cheap boards, cheap results!"

YELLOW BIRD MODIFICATION

,

By CADDIE5
from chicago area
Disadvantages: Performance
"We have 6 yellow birds for spring salmon sighing on the south end of Lake Michigan. Had to bend the wire angle to make them track in 1-2 ft. waves. Aslo had to change out the undersized releases with offshore releases. When price is added up we should have spent the bucks for the walleye board or offshore planer boards. The yellow birds have to be tuned and they don't do well in heavier chop. We will slowly phase them out of our boat equipment for salmon fishing."
