Great float tube, never had the problem,April 5, 2009
By TubeFishingfrom Westchester, NY, Monterey, MA
"I log a lot of hours sitting in a float tube. I have a bad back, and yet the tube feels great.
I think this tube is terrific. A lot of storage space, which is very important in a tube.
I have mine tricked out with a self-made rod holder, a Humminbird FishingBuddy 130 Fishfinder (they make a holder for a tube,) a light anchor with reel, and a floating fish basket, as well as tons of lures, hardware, etc.
I have NOT experienced any difficulty with the valves. Mine do not leak in the slightest. And I'm talking eight hours on the lake at a time.
Yes, when you initially put the bladders in the tube, there is some readjusting to get it right. But then the bladders remain there permanently.
One warning; bladders will expand as your tube is out in the sun; do not overinflate and be prepared to deflate as the early morning turns afternoon. Otherwise, basic physics will cause the bladders to tear out the stitching. This is true for all bladder float tubes, and the instructions duly warn against this.
Great tube"

Kennebec Float tube,December 27, 2008
By budman156from Lancaster, Ca
"I bought 2 of these tubes for my son and I and we just love them. They are built very well and have plenty of storage for all your fishing supplies. I am a 225 pound guy and fishing with this tube is like sitting in you favorite easy chair, minus the remote. I am giving this tube a 4 star rating due to the amount of time it takes to get this tube ready to float. I have been out quite a bit and it still takes about a hour and a half to position the side tubes into there compartments. This really hurts the tubes overall rating."

Love it!,June 14, 2007
By pappyfrom Lakewood, Colorado
"Been using the Kennebec for 2 years now, and would not consider another tube. All of the fishing I do from it, is on higher mountain lakes where we pack them in. Easy to haul. Storage is wonderful, with better than twice what I have on my pontoon boat. Planning on finding an old Kennebec somewhere, and cutting the storage compartments free for adaptation to the pontoon. As mentioned previously, the threads can be an issue. My solution is two fold. First I placed a reinforced 2" length of tubing over the screw ends, which crimps them down tightly preventing the spread which leaks. Second, rather than just screwing them closed after inflation, I make them really tight. No leakage any more. I also carry my pump in the mesh back area, and the filler tube in a pocket of the tube... for the times I forget to tighten the screw ends, or water/sun change the pressure in the tube.
I would rate it a full 5 if not for the screw valve issue."

Great Float Tube,August 11, 2006
By Fisherman1234567from Sheridan, WY
"I've had my Kennebec for about 2 years now and absolutely love it. It's a very stable and safe boat. The only problem I've had seems to be a qwirk with all of the Trout Unlimited Float Tubes, the air valve threads are of a poor plastic design and tend to leak. I read the review below and it seems that my deflation problem is not uncommon. It takes awile for it to become noticeable but is easy even in the water to re-inflate with a few breaths. Other than the thread problem the boat is wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent fishing platform."

Love it!,July 11, 2006

"Well, I've had my Kennebec for a few months and I have to say I love the thing. It's easy to get in and out of, sits up a little higher than most tubes out of the water, it's easy to manuever in the water and is quick to get adjusted and setup.
I like it so much I recommended it to my fishing buddies and they all purchased them too!"

Tube Floater for 15yrs.,June 14, 2006
By Tube Fishing year round Fanatic, Winter Also!from Tulsa, Oklahoma
"I have had the pleasure of owning a Kennebec Float Tube for 4 years now. I have had to send it in once and received the wrong parts of my tube back.. Today I'm still stuck with the same problem I had when I first sent it back. The threads on the Tube do not, I repeat they do not hold up! All you should have to do is blow it up and jump in the water. But when you first blow it up you do notice that the threads seem to part more than you think that they should. But it does float when in the water. I have to say that the Kennebec Float Tube takes very little work to glide through the water. I have been able to fish in my tube even during the highest of gas prices, with just fin power alone! It has been a very cheap and wonderful experience to be on the water early in the morning and catching those big bass. I have gotten some great pictures and memories that my family and others have enjoyed through the years. As most any other angler that fishes for large mouth bass can tell you, you can and will hook most any thing else. I have to say that I have not had but two small holes in my Float Tube and I have still made it back to my truck. The Float Tubes are them self very safe to fish out of. I have to say that I really like my Float Tube. I fish with a wet suit on in the winter months and the float tube still keeps me out of the cold water. If you want to see pictures of my fishing out of one of these Float Tubes e-mail me at Jopsonrjopson@aol.com and I will send you some of the best pictures you have seen out of Float Tube Fishing at it's best. Now if you need help in buying one I can help you with that also... You can set yourself up for less than $300. and some change and enjoy a healthy way of fishing and safe way of fishing."
