"The mepps comit mino is the absolute best lure i have ever used for smallmouth bass , striped bass ,and crappie. I use this lure in the little miami river in cinninnati ohio and i catch at 15 bass a day on this thing u can throw it in rapids , shallow water , deep water , calm water....just about anywhere. i do best in the river on this lure, it is plain old EXCELLENT!!"

"This lure is made well and is of the usual Mepps high quality. The blade spins well and the minnow body is very detailed and realistic. The only complaint I have is the fact that the minnow body often spins with the rest of the lure and looks a bit odd."

"I am prepping for a trip to Minnesota so I purchased the Mepps minnow spinner #5 silver bladed to catch the attention of Pike. I went to my local small Missouri lake to adjust a baitcast reel I just purchased and I tied on this lure.
No sooner did this lure hit the water (about 4 feet deep) and the water erupted with a large fish coming up out of the water, - splashing, jumping and turning all the way to the boat. I thought I had hooked a large bass; however, it was instead a catfish (I hate catching catfish) and this guy was over 17lbs fighting hard to get away.
The reason I mention the type of fish is to note the explosive reaction this lure will draw from a variety of fish. I used to fish a mepps minnow #1 as a kid and always caught fish; however, I had kind of moved away from that lure over the years. I am now back and this lure should be in your tackle box. The lure held up well with this beefy fish.
At nearly six dollars for this larger version at Bass Pro, it was a bit pricey, but I wanted a successful trip to Minnesota."

"To start you will NEVER lose a fish on this lure.It looks just like a minnow,and bass love that.All though it is not the most durabile it is all and all a good lure...(I perfer the silver spoon and also look for the newer version it has two mor hooks on the bottom)"

"I have been using this lure since I can remember from pulling red eye shoal bass when i was a kid to large mouth out on the lake now. Its definitely my go to lure. I know if I throw this I will catch something. I have many different ones but I personally like the silver spoon #2. Its a must for any tackle box. To fish it just cast and reel in and every now and again add a small tug."

"I went fishing with my friend on the mohawk river the other day, caught a huge smallie, 5lbs. This sold me on that lure right then. "I have had a comet in my tacklebox for years now, Last month I went fishing on Lake Canandagua in upper NYS and a pike took and stole my comet! I purchased a new one from Basspro, and the next trip, used it exclusively! I had fingerlings the size of the comet following it to the boat and caugth more fish than my companion did, including another 6 lb pike! This one did not get away!! A killer on any lake i have fished on either up north or down south! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!"

"I grew up in Colorado and have fished every chance I've had and I saw this lure years ago and gave it shot, trout attack this thing with proper presentation, fished upstream and pulled with speed and movement downstream. I have caught every species of trout in Colorado and Wyoming on this lure and when hike in it generally the only small box of lures I take. Great for bass, crappie, walleye, channel cats and even smaller pike, I wouldn't go out without this in my gear."
