"When i first got my first falcon original i already had 5 or 6 different rods already and i noticed the difference immediately. The rod being stiffer and more durable than my other previous rods you cannot go wrong with a Falcon Original. I recommend a medium heavy rod 7 ft you cant go wrong with that."

"I was already a fan of Falcon rods, so when I picked up a 7' Medium Falcon Original I was surprised at how good it felt. I use it for small crankbaits and small topwater baits. It is a terrific rod for the money, especially since it is made in the USA."

"I bought a 7ft heavy Falcon origional to replace an All star Heavy rod that I had. I use these for catching stripers in the summer off of Super Spooks. This is probably the best rod I have ever owned. It easily holds up to a 15 pound striper, and has just the perfect action for working a Super Spook. I was impressed with my All Star rod until it broke and a friend Recommended me to the falcon rods. I will never buy a brand other than falcon now. They are at fair prices and you get way more than you pay for."

Number One

"I only have one (so far) and it is my number one workhorse rod. It's a 6'6" H, and it makes a great jig rod for the way I fish. In my experience with Falcon rods, sensitivity and control are top-notch. When a fish comes calling, the rod has enough backbone for eye-crossing hook sets and hauling 'em out of the slop. I can't wait to get more Falcon rods."

Best bang for your buck!

"I've got two Original's, a 6'6 MH and a 6'6 M. They have a great backbone for good hook setting power, yet have a nice fast action tip for great castability and accuracy. I use the FC-5-166(MH) for soft plastics and frogs and use the FC-4-166(M) for spinnerbaits, topwater plugs, and crankbaits. They're both pretty versatile. You can't beat a rod with this quality for the price. I've used others that cost twice as much and I can't really tell a difference. Try one or two. You won't regret it."

"I only have one of these. 7ft. med. action. A true workhorse. All the qualities you want in an affordable rod. Better than many that cost alot more. Very versatile. Flexible tip with enough back bone through the rest of the blank. Highly recommended."

Nice, Durable Rods...

"Bought 7' medium action rod and 6'6" MH three years ago. Both have held up well. The rods have good, but not great sensitivity. I use these for reaction baits.
I currenlty have the 7' medium paired with Quantum reel and use it for 3/8 oz spinnerbaits and 1/4 to 1/2 oz medium diving crankbaits. The 6'6" MH for large spinnerbaits, also with a Quantum reel. These rods do have a little bit more bend than other graphite blanks, but by no means are they fiberglass. Both, especially the 6'6" MH, have a nice backbones.
Personally, I prefer graphite reaction bait rods over fiberglass, but they have a bit more play than other graphite rods. I don't know how Falcon rates the tips on these, but the 7' M performs like a moderate and the 6'6" performs like a moderate/fast action tip.
If you are looking for something for use with soft plastics and want a Falcon, look at the LowRider or Cara series. The LowRider Weightless Worm is a very, very nice rod.
Also, compared to newer Falcon offerings like the Cara T7 series, these rods are relatively heavy and balance best with 8.5 oz to 10 oz reels. Do not put a lightweight finesse reel like a Daiwa Sol or magnesium bodied Shimano on either of the 'Original' actions mentioned above. Before upgrading to new Quantums on these last year, I was using a 20 yr old Abu Garcia C3 on one and a 30 yr old Daiwa Millionaire on the other with great success.
Overall, the two rods I own perform admirably for what I use them for."

Nice, quality rod at a great price.

"I purchased the 6'6" medium rod one year ago and have caught hundreds of largemouths on it. I typically use it for smaller crankbaits as I have found it's overall length and weight to perform well with this lure. The short length allows for accurate casting and it still retains enough backbone to land large 5 lb. bass. If you are considering moving into higher quality rods the Falcon brand is a great, affordable way to start. Grab one and enjoy."

Falcon, best deal for the price range

"My fishing bud loves Falcon so much, that's all he uses. Read the featured review for the BPS Prolite baitcaster where he dove for three days trying to retrieve this rod & reel combo for 3 days straight! So he finally convinced me to buy one. I have a 6ft medium action rod that I use in tandem with the BPS Prolite reel (great combo!) for finesse plastics, small crankbaits, small buzzbaits, and spinnerbaits. Just about anything small, this rod & reel combo will produce with effortless casts.
I have 3 St. Croix Avid series rods and I would place the Falcon Original series a very close second to the St. Croix Avid rods. There is slightly more feel with the St. Croix but considering those rods are twice the price at $180 average, the original for around $80 is a great value.
I highly recommend the Falcon Original series. Not so for the Lowrider series, they tend to break easily whereas the Original series does not. I think the Originals have a better feel too and more sensitivity too."

"Ever since my first falcon purchase, over a decade ago, i have been adding falcon rods to my fishing arsenal. sensitive, strong, long-lasting. the guides are mounted with three feet instead of two which helps to keep the eyes from bending. the cork handles last and last. in my opinion, you can pay more for a rod, but you won't be buying a better one."

"Superior sensitivity, tough guides, easy to handle on the long days of continuous casting. I haven't found a better rod, whether it be for tossing spinnerbaits/crankbaits or pitching jigs/worms into deep cover. In my opinion, this is the best rod for under $100. Start by buying the first one, because that's all it will take to convince you that this is a rod you will have for a long time."
