Customer Reviews for Rapala Rapala® Freshwater Rattlin' Rapala®

Rapala Rapala® Freshwater Rattlin' Rapala®

Cast out a Rattlin' Rapala and watch the swimming action at slow to very fast retrieve rates—you'll be amazed. This extra-loud shallow-running crankbait is equipped with 2 full-size treble hooks for sure hookups. Special "tuned" sound chamber is loaded with rattlin' BBs that are harmonic, uniform and "in tune" with nature, and alert and arouse the attack instinct in fish. The Rattlin' Rapala can be vertically jigged without hook fouling and has great falling/swimming action. A special favorite of bass and northern pike anglers. Red Hook Colors: 87, 88, 89.

Disadvantages: Durability, paint comes off easily
"my favorite lipless crankbait is a yo-zuri but the rapala is half the cost so I use it in unfamiliar lakes or when I fish from shore until I know the area so I wont lose the more expensive bait. The rapala version is definitely a fish magnet,I catch tons of bass, lerge and smallmouth. I prefer the firetiger in any water temp. or clarity. I recommend that anyone who likes catching bass own a couple of these lure's in different colors and sizes. remember big baits catch big fish but get less bites."

Love these lures!

"I love these lures! They work very well for striped bass! I know that these lures are classified as a freshwater lure, but all I did was change the hooks and rinse them off in fresh water once I get home or as soon as possible!
They work great out of the box, they run true, and if you need to tune them, it's nothing major, just a little tweak to either side and that's it! They are not over priced, they are quality items! No fisher person should be without a few of these lures. A few in every size and colors. These are the classic "Go to lure!"Get some they're worth every penny!
Tight lines, be safe!"

A Good Value For The Money

"This lure is perfect for inshore fishing as well as fishing from a boat so your not limited. I've found rather than some of my other rattling lures it has a more tighter wiggle and almost looks like a baitfish coming through the water. The color's are vivid too and I like them. I would highly recommend this lure."

Great Classic Bait

"I travel 5 days a week, and I always go looking for a place to fish when I'm on the road and I use this bait to test the waters. I always catch fish, as a matter of fact I caught 10 bass, and one catfish using one of these in a little pond I found in Starke, Florida. If you can only have one lure in your arsenal this one should be it."

None better

Advantages: Ease of use, Style/Design, Performs well, Value for money
Disadvantages: not having a spare in the tackle box!
"I spend mostt of my time pike fishing, and there is no better lure, in my book. I can go literally for months without changing lures - other than putting on a new, Firetiger Rattlin' Rap! I find the lure works better for me when trolling, versus casting. Some reviewers note that the lure is easily damaged; however, in my case, the fish are absolutely brutal, so i'm used to replacing them."

"My rattilin' rap is the baby bluegill style, let me tell you, I've had it a long time, and it still looks fairly good and works like new. I trolled it in a reservoir that has hardly any fish in it and actually catch a really nice bluegill which is amazing in a biological desert of a reservoir."

Great product for the price

,
September 15, 2010
By liplessenthusiast
Advantages: Ease of use, Style/Design, Performs well, Value for money
Disadvantages: Durability
"I've used the rattlin' rap throughout the summer fishing season and I have to say, it outpreformed every single lure in my tackle box. While I didn't catch as many as my friend, who used a smaller version, the 1/2 ounce size in the Silver/Gold color seemed to produce when nothing else could. While that lure got snagged in a rock pile, I have ordered another one and used it since, but notice that the coloration change did not improve on the catch rate. In fact, the new lure has failed to produce fish in late summer. But I blame myself for that, don't blame the lure. It's excellent in quality and action, but the finish scratches off rather easily when dug against a rocky bottom."
