Valve leaks!

,
July 2, 2009
By dannylc9
from Clarksville,IN
Advantages: light and compact
Disadvantages: Quality
"The container is light enough, and the handle I've not had any problem with. The valve leaked from day one, so I can't transport with it! Sitting at the camp empty below the valve upright is O.K."

"The fact that it compact is nice, but once it is full it is hard to carry. Also, I had to fix one of the hadles because it broke."

It's ok for storing water

,
March 26, 2008
By fishfan
from IL
"We use this container at camp for storing water for cooking or cleaning only.
My main problem with this container, is that it is very flimsy when it's full of water. If you set it with the spigot down, on the end of a picnic table for filling cups or water bottles, it can and will roll and fall off the table if someone isn't holding it. This container would be much better if it had a firm bottom with a collapsable top.
This container is only ok for me."

Wish it was lighter

"I've had one of these for many many years and its still going strong.
I wish it was lighter and a bit more compact folded down so it wouldn't take up so much space and weight when I am backpacking."

Very rugged and useful

"I have had a couple of these in five gallon and also a couple 2 1/2 gallon versions over the years. In all that time, only one sprung a leak. They are very rugged and I put them to just about the roughest use one could imagine up in shield rock country in Canada. In fact, I think the leak was not caused due to physical damage at all. I think it was simply that the container was so old that it finally wore through a corner where it folds. These things are almost indestructible and the spigot works perfectly."

Great for camping or hunting or ???

,

"Very handy and easy to pack in empty, collapses down quite flat for stuffing in a pack. When full (I have the 5 gallon model) it's a bit heavy but the handle is sturdy enough to work well. Sits nicely on a camp table with the nozzle down so you can easily dispense water without wasting it."
