Dry and warm, April 1, 2009
By Mmaxwel from Taylor Mill, Ky.

"Easy setup, warm on cool nights, and kept me dry on rainy nights. I like the design it has for air movement, and the fact you can open the windows a little when its raining. A big plus in the area I camp in."

Just cant be beat, December 27, 2008
By CoyoteNwoods from VA

"I have used timberlines for almost 20 years now. When I say "use" that about 3-4 days a month, and at least 3 week long trips a year.

Easy to set up, works great, looks good, last for years.

If size is an issue just understand the golden rule of tents.. a "2" person tent sleeps one person with gear good, a "4" person tent fits 2 with gear and room to spare. Tents of any brand have been and will always be that way. Eureka make plenty of extentions if you need more room.

Sure there are cheaper tents out there, but you get what you pay for.

At the end of the day, the Timberline is hands down the best backpacking tent you will find out there under $200.

"While they are famous for not endorsing products, 100,000 Boy Scout Troops can't be wrong in buying the Eureka Timberline 4 Tent. The BSA does not endorse products, however, both the Timberline 2 and 4 person tents have been a staple in their Scout Shop catalog for decades. It is a good basic every man tent. Not one of the space age looking dome tents that need a NASA engineer to erect. I have seen scouts erecting these "A" frames in the dead of night in hurricane force winds and weather. And in the case of one poor scout, tying the peak points to a tree limb and crawling in. I would recommend that you take your new Eureka out back and carefully reading the very short instruction sheet, erect it for the first time. The order of assembly need not be followed but it makes it easier to do by one person. The rain fly does stop just shy of the bottom edge of the tent wall. But during the heaviest recorded rainfall in November, we remained 99% dry. I would recommend getting the vestibule to have a place to store boots and such muddy gear. Eureka sells this as a 3 - 1/2 season tent. It protected my troops during a blinding blizzard on Blood Mountain. I had suffered health problems for a time and have been out of Scouting. I was very happy to learn that the Timberline Tent series were still for sale. I invested in a separate ground tarp and spare tent pegs. Those tent pegs get lost so quickly. I do not usually endorse anything as highly as I do the Eureka Timberline 2 & 4 tents. Keep Clear Spartan Caver"

I'll never own another tent!, May 12, 2008
By hutchyhutch from Orange Park, Fl

"I've used the Timberline tent for over 15 years. I've owned two in that time frame. I've used this tent from Maine to Florida. It handles any climate easily. Very durable and easy to put up. I can normally put this tent up by myself in about 5 minutes. By far the best tent I've ever had. You can't beat the quality and durability of these tents!"

good tent, small space, February 24, 2008
By Scouter145 from San Antonio, TX

"I am a Boy Scout who recently became an Assistant Scoutmaster. My troop in south Texas has used these tents in all sorts of weather and conditions, from East Texas rains and humidity to West Texas wind, dust , and altitude and South Texas heat. These tents have been with us for easily 5 to 10 years and they have withstood the rigors of scouting. In fact, my troop's only problem with these tents has been the fact that the tent is too small to accomodate anything more than sleep, which we scouts and scouters know doesn't come about until the wee hours of the morning. Thus, it is a good buy, but it can still use a bit of work."

Old faithful, January 4, 2008
By FriscoKid from Frisco, TX

"Our Boy Scout Troop growing up used these as troop tents. When I had to buy my own after high school, I quickly discovered why.

Durable

Cool in summer

Warm in Winter

Great tent if you don't have to carry it far, it is pretty heavy by today's standards. I have used this tent for 10+ years, and the only thing I have to do is seam seal it each year to ensure that it won't leak.

very old, November 25, 2006

"I've had one of these for over 20 years. I would buy a new one only because of a camping accident with July 4th sparklers (sparklers and tents do not bode well)."

The Timberline has been field test & at Great Deal, July 11, 2006
By Assistant Scoutmaster T0123 from Jenks, Oklahoma

"For those of you that don't know many of these Eurekas have been used for years by the local boys in scouting and year after year they stand up to the best and worst of weather that mother nature can throw at it. Bass Pro carries this line of great tents at an affordable price. If you have children in scouting or just love the great outdoors you need to seriously think of a tent that will last year after year and stand up to the eliments like these Eureka Timberlines."
