Berkley Berkley® FireLine® Fishing Line - 125 Yards

Stronger than monoCasts farther than monoSmoother castsTies easilyUnaffected by UV, sunlight and coldNo other line delivers the same combination of easy handling, castability, super strength and sensitivity as Berkley's FireLine does. Stronger than mono, yet FireLine casts farther and handles just as well—even better, in some situations. FireLine ties easier, makes smoother casts, and stays hassle-free in any weather. Durable, too, as FireLine won't deteriorate over a lifetime, because ultra-light rays, sunlight, and even cold won't affect it.

"I have been using Berkley FireLine for the past 8 years. I have over a dozen fishing reels with various pound test line and have found that it holds up extreemly well in salt water and does not twist up on the reel or when the line is slack. I fish 3 to 4 weekends a month and have for years. I use spinning reels and this line performs flawlessly. I could not give a higher recommendation!"

"I'm a big fan of this line. I use it in 6lb on a light rod and 14lb on a medium heavy. I've used it on Shimano and Bass Pro Shop reels and it performs well every time. Casting is smooth, it is very sensitive and very strong. The color does come off quickly (I use smoke color)."

good line but ill try something else

"very good line as far as strength is concerned but you will sling a lure into the lake if it gets a kink or knot in it. i use the 6lb test on my ultralight and it casts great distance and smoothness. need to use a swivel if youre going to be running rooster tails or similar because once this gets twisted theres no saving it, break out the scissors. use it in 10lb on a spinner and its greats too, ultra sensitive and casts great but it does seem rougher/louder on my guides during the retrieve. overall worth the money but ill be trying something else on my next respool. color fades very quickly also. my hands turned black on the spooling alone."

Great product only under the right conditions

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well
Disadvantages: requires break-in time, needs correct rod and reel setup
"I have been using berkley fireline going on 10 years now. I have to say its a great product, but I have mixed feelings about it. So I have come up with some rules that should be followed while using this line. First and foremost, use the right pound test for the application, I do mostly bass fishing, and anything less than 12lb test shouldn't be used for spinning and or baitcasting applications. Second, remember that braid line has NO stretch, so if you use a stiffer rod always tune down your drag enough to let the line have a little slip or you will snap your line on hooksets. Third, this line has mixed results when you use it the first few times...by that I mean it is more prone to snapping as opposed to when it has been wet and dried a few times to break the line in. Lastly, tie a polamor knot with this line, this will prevent the line from slipping at the eye of the hook and ensure that the knot stays tight. Hopefully this helps, but know that no line is perfect and you have to keep in mind all of the other areas involved in your equipment choices."

Best Ever!

Advantages: Ease of use
Disadvantages: dealing with a leader
"Greatest line for a spinning reel ever. If one has a clue to what line memory is you'll find Fireline has none. If fishing in clear water use a leader. You may have the line snap when casting in the beginning however, this is due to learning to cast with a no-stretch line. If you lack the intellect, do not buy it'll only make you angry!! If you can master it you'll be rewarded greatly with all it's advantages."

"I would recomend this line to anyone that really wants a high preformance line. Comes off the reel really good. It is amazingly small in diameter for the strength this line has. The only time this line has broken was when I hung up on a stump and even then I had to wrap it around a stick so I could pull it hard enough to break it. The amazing thing is that I was only using 6 lb. test line. Better use it--you will love it."

Best Line Peroid!

Advantages: Ease of use, Style/Design, Performs well, Value for money, Quality
"This line in the grayish-black color is by far the best line i have ever used, and the smallest diameter :). At 6 lb test I could swear the line breaking strength is atleast at 15, When i get stuck on a rock or a tree, the hook straightens and the line still doesn't break. Also the line stay perfectly round for atleast a year of every day use, even if you see some fizz around the line after that, it still hold because the line breaking strength is way higher than it says on the box. I caught numerous bass, northern pike, pikerel, catfish last year that were at least 10 pounds or over and the line held its strength."

"I do not recommend buying this line. After a while, the line weakens and snaps causing your lure to go flying! I have the crystal color and it's not invisible at all."

Tough Stuff

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Value for money, Quality, great knot strength
"Plenty of backbone even in 4lb test. When fishing a spinnerbait, you may want to put some mono or fluorocarbon at the business end of your line. One of the first casts I made with this line I got a big bite from a largemouth and the line is so tough it broke my titanium spinnerbait in two!!!
I have fished Fireline for years and have never had a fish break my line. Try 6lb test for smallies on an ultralight rod and reel and enjoy the fight."

"Really like this line in ultralight situations. Stream fishing for smallmouth it works great with small cranks. Don't have to worry about loops and twists. If it happens you can get pretty aggressive with this stuff to get 'em out."

Great Line

Advantages: Ease of use, Style/Design, Performs well, Value for money, Quality, lasts for a really long time
"I use this braided line on a few of my spinning reels and i love it! The line itself is super strong, and has impressive knot strength for braid. My favorite thing about braid is that you can fit so much of it on your spool because it has such a small diameter. Another great thing about this line is its durability. I've had the same spool of line on one of my spinning reels for three years and its still good as new! I highly recommend this line to all fishermen who are looking for a line that will hold its strength for a long time."
