Neat tool, May 14, 2009
By Knuckles from Eugene, Oregon

Advantages: Performs well, Quality, Style/Design

"I added this to my fly vest (simply because I had an empty spot I needed to fill). It serves its purpose well and I have grown to like it a lot.

I would have given it 5 stars but for the documentation that accompanies the tool--it does not supply completely clear instructions on its use--it has them, and illustrations, but they are so small and poorly printed that it is almost impossible to make them out.

So Easy Even I Can Do It, May 3, 2009
By BluegillBurglar from Alabama

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design
Disadvantages: doesn't float

"The Gryp knot is so easy to tie with this that I don't care what other knots you can do with it.
I'm a firefighter and I use knots a lot. I can tie and untie some of them behind my back while hopping up and down on one leg. The kind of knots that can save your life.

But that is with big rope! The older I get, itsy bitsy fishing lines give me fits. Not anymore. I can break a line and have another hook on in no time with this tool. It is so easy to do that I bought another just in case I lost or forgot one of my most favorite fishing tools ever.

Take's a while..., November 10, 2008
By RareBreed from Hopkinsville, KY

"This gizmo takes a while to get use to... but after you are used to typing your knots on this thing... it's smooth sailing. I have one on my fly-fishing vest to help me when my line and hands are wet from wadding."

Cool product!, October 29, 2008
By BaitMonkey from Denver Colorado

"This works very well! Like the other reviewer said the included instructions are not that great but if you search "youtube" they have a video that shows you all the knots."

Product good, Instructions poor, April 7, 2007
By Anonymous from Westchester, NY

"The knot tyer is small but large enough for my big hand to handle. It's light enough to carry without being in the way or a burden. It's easy enough to use however I havn't figured out all the knots you can tie with it yet. The instructions are poor and confusing. There is only one step by step illustration (nail knot) and that is not very well drawn. Other knots shown, but not step by step, are the gryp-knot (well drawn), splice knot, which I have not been able to figure out yet, and variations of the gryp-knot. The written instructions are a little confusing and without good step by step illustrations you have to work at it inorder to figure the knots out. I would have gladly paid more for better illustrations."
