An Ugly Winner, July 21, 2008

"I purchased the 20-50 line class rod and will have to say it is a very good rod. I have this rod matched up with a Shimano Tekota 800 and Berkley 30lb big game. Havent gotton a chance to go after snapper or grouper with this setup but have put it through its paces with some shark and am very pleased. The rod has a soft tip action with plenty of grunt all the way to the back. The smooth grip on the back allow it to be removed easily from any rod holder you want to put it in, and the reel set gets the job done expetially with any reel clamp you would decide to use with your reel. Have not had the opportunity to catch any monsters with it yet, but feel this can do pretty much anything I could ask of it."

Ugly Stik Custom Casting Rod, May 5, 2006

"I now own four Ugly Stik custom casting rods 12-30ml with a Torium 16, 20-50m with a Torium 20, 30-60mh with a Penn Baja Special + My Ugly Stik Stand Up trolling rod with AFTCO roller guides, 30-80h with a Penn International 30s. All of these combos were put to the test on a three day fishing trip out of San Diego,Results,Four Yellowtail,Five Giant Squid, Three Lingcod, 16 Red Rock Cod & One Albacore, I caught the Albacore with the stand up trolling rod & Penn International 30s. "NO Problems". These Rods work like other rods twice the price."
