"Use the #8 Red hook (buy a big pack--trust me) for your trout fishing needs. Whether you're fishing worms, dough, eggs or whatever this hook is for you.
It comes scary-sharp, I mean SCARY. Sticky like you'd expect, but scalpel-sharp along the flanks of the cutting point as well.
With this hook DO NOT expect to be doing a lot of catch and release. It hooks deep and fast and many of my trout come to the boat bleeding out from the hookset.. They all end up in the smoker, so bad day for the trout. (I find it easiest to cut the leader and leave the hook in the fish until I get home to clean them, then I drop the hooks in a shotglass full of alcohol on my window ledge)."

"I use the 1-2/0 sizes to make double-hook rigs for long strips of cut bait necessary in fluke fishing. These hooks have never let me down in the pursuit of fluke (summer flounder). They hook the fish well and don't pop out like many hooks do via headshakes by fluke at the boat. They consistently hook these sideways fish despite their tough jaw, skin, and narrow mouth. My go-to hook! Thanks again Owner!"

"Ever time I go to BPS in Ft Myers I buy more 1/0 SSWs. It's the only hook I use when fishing with bait. Super sharp right out of the pack and I've never had one straighten out on me."

"I tried other hooks and never really felt comfortable with them, then I bought Owner size 6 & 8 SSW with Cutting Point hooks for steelhead fishing. Well I will never go back to the "others" as if these hooks touch the mouth of a fish it digs-in and the fun begins, they are strong and sharp and all you really need. Caution! when the wind is blowing a bare hook around on your line these hooks will instantly stick to your waders, clothing or any bare skin."

"These are the best hooks you can buy for all inshore species and smaller offshore ones. The bent shank pulls the business end of the hook up, instead of straight out for more hook ups, and the cutting point never fails to penetrate the toughest parts of a snook's jaw. I use these hooks in almost all of my live bait situations."
