"I have had mine for about 4 years and the blade has stayed very sharp. The only thing I would improve for this is the grip. If Gerber would put a non slip grip on it I would give it 5 stars."

"Plastic handle is VERY strong and VERY durable, it's hollow so it's light in your hand. The blade is as sharp as a knife and very easy to sharpen. I can't forsee this axe breaking on me anytime soon. It's good for smaller jobs and carrying it on your hip, but if you want something for chopping firewood, get the camp axe, as it is bigger, but don't get me wrong, this one could take down a small tree with very little effort."

"This axe is awesome. Have used both for hunting and camping trips. Has no trouble taking down small trees. The handle is hallow and super light and won't chip or break if you miss and hit the handle. Blade is super sharp and very durable. I have accidently hit rocks before and chipped the blade a little but still works great. Has no trouble with mesquites or oaks. Sheath also attaches to belt if you want to pack it on your hip when hiking. Only draw back is it is small and black so if you lay it down and forget where you were it can be hard to find. I have actually lost two b/c of this mistake but I still continue to buy new ones! Overall great buy!!!"

"I have had it for a year. I have even hit a few rocks with it, and it is still sharp. When i got it, it was as sharp as a knife(even cut my thumb on it, be careful) plastic handle is strong and light"

"Wow. That about sums it up. Balanced, heavy, very sharp, quality metal. Because the edge is so sharp, be sure to pick up a sharpening puck. The edge is a bit thin to get that razor edge. I let a newbie use it and he beat the daylights out of it. Quick sharpening and it's as good as new. Excellent car camping axe."
