Great early-season musky baitAlso excellent in warm waterProven inline spinner actionThe Mepps Musky Killer is a great early-season musky lure. Musky season opens early on many shallow northern musky lakes, and fishing these cold waters can be the key to early season action. A slow presentation is needed. Fish shallow bays and large flats of weeds early in the season with a Mepps Musky Killer. It's also an excellent warm water spinner for fishing over weeds with a rapid retrieve.

"Largemouth hit the black color. I guess it looks like a sick mouse or baby squirrel struggling in the water. Always use a forceps/needle-nose when removing the hooks...they are monsters."

"Thsi bucktail really prduces during spring. Very good performance adn the paint does not chip off. Weeds do stop the lure form running but you can really burn this just above the weeds for some great action in the spring time."

"I use these Mepps lures every summer fishing in Canada. Gear amounts are limited because of space, but I always have 6 of them in the box for the trip. Lately I've been using them in Florida as well and have found that big largemouth also will attack this lure. It's best for toothy fish used with a metal leader or at least heavy fluorocarbon. When fish hit these it is in attack mode and they fight like a demon."

"I love Mepps spinners and this is a great spinner for musky. The spinner has a large blade to cause vibrations and flash and the skirt presents a large profile for big fish. This lure works great for muskies, pike, and largemouth bass."

"I have been to Canada on several fishing trips for Northern Pike. Although these are listed as a Musky lure they are great for Pike also. I have always had great results with the #5 size with all colors. I have fished all day with a single lure and have caught several pike in the 35-40 inch size. They stand up great against a large hard biting fish. If anyone is going after big fish like Pike or Musky I will tell you that you will not dislike this product."

"Pretty good bait overall. I fished with the Mepps Musky Killer for about three weeks, everyday, and caught two 30+ inch pike, a 42 inch musky, and two four pound, late-season bass. Decent inter-species lure, not great, but a decent buy."

"This bait ripped over weeds in summertime is a great way to catch big pike. It also catches big largemouth bass. I sometimes throw them in the spring for prespawn bass. It gives them a little something different to look at besides the traditional spinnerbaits that most guys are throwing."

"I live in Utah. I use the all black Mepps Muskie killer with a big gold blade. I have caught many Tigermuskies and few small mouth bass on this spinner. I have tired other spinner baits for muskies on to days market. Mepps beats them all. Great bait for big fish."
