"I tried this lure out trying to catch some bass and pickrel and it did the job well! I'd try other baits in the same spot then toss out a flatfish and WHAM! they would slam that thing hard. I use the orange with black spots and the fish love it! I used it for most of a day once and caught plenty of bass, pickrel and some perch! You will love this all around lure!"

"We were in an un-ending lull in the middle of a three day trip for trout/walleye. The lull became a frenzy when my dad tied one of these on. I followed suit ... We both had blisters on the ride home. I will NEVER overlook this bait again. It's my new lead-off hitter!"

Oldie but Goodie
"These have been used for many years and they are still excellent producers if you use new or vintage lures. They have quite a unique action, cast well and will produce well on many species. This may be an old lure but it should not be forgotten or under estimated."

"Many years have past since I first used flatfish baits. I have never failed to catch fish , from channel cats to all types of bass. This bait never fails. I just started to use it again after many years of sitting idle, it works, on my third cast it produced a bass. I fished this spot in the past month with no luck , went to the flatfish and bam got two in less than 30 min. Great bait."

"It is with great regret that I write to say I am ordering new lures. In the past 2 years I've seen 3 lunker bass escape with my "almost antique" lures in their mouths -- I hate 4 and 6 pound lines, and inept net work. My earliest memories as a kid learning to fish for bass concern orange flatfish with black spots, and a great big bass belting it. More recently, it has been the silver flatfish shaking in the waves of a storm!"

"I've used flatfish for over 20 years now and have probably had more success with this lure than any other hard bait. Over the years, I've caught countless bass, pike, and even walleye using various colors and sizes. The action is unbeatable and I've found that it often works well even in mid-summer when the fishing in the northeast typically slows down."

"bought a red one of these a few years back when working in Southern Indiana, brought it home to Scotland with me, on the first salmon run the river was running to fast for rapalas, a favourite here, everyone laughed when i brought out the Helin Flat Fish, best salmon fishing experience i've had for a while. Still proving it's self when everyone else is fishing the rapalas. "
