"This item has gotten some pretty negative reviews...It is a pain until you get the hang of it. When you do, you can't live without. I loop the hook on the hanger, use needle nose for the hook and just bring it down to the slot and it is done. Takes a little time but well worth it when you tackle box is squared away for the next trip. My tackle box was a wreck with tangled hooks, taking my time and using the hook holder, I know exactly where my sized hooks are. I like it....But remember, take your time.....It is a little bit of a pain."

"I use this to store my treble hooks as I tie them at different lengths for different applications. Overall quality is only fair but for the price it keeps your hooks from a tangled mess with easy access."

"My dad had one of this type of snell hook holder and it was wonderful and lasted over twenty years.
This one is a poorly made cheap imitation. Getting a hook in and out of the grid is nearly impossible. It looks like it was made backwards. The vertical columns of the grid were raised, when it should have been the horizontal rows that were raised. The metal hook and spring are also made very cheaply.
This thing is so bad it is better to just throw your snelled hooks in the bottom of the tackle box. You will snag your fingers less and they will be more accesible."

"I remembered these contraptions from when I was a little kid so I bought one for me and one for my grandson.
It is darned near impossible to get hooks on or off without tear up your fingers or having to use your pliers.
My poor litle grandson just couldn't do it.
Threw these in the circular file at work."

"These things have been around for 100 years and maybe the only thing like it on the market BUT they tear up your fingers they sticky, are awfully hard to use and there has got to be something different. Would never buy another one again."

"not much to say about this except it keeps snelled hooks out of places where they shouldn't be, like your thumb. it also works well for rigged worms and other baits that have leaders. a simple yet very important item for any fisherman."

"I have several of these hook holders and bought two more this week. These are great for shorter sneller hooks because they keep the line straight and less prone to tangle. I use them to hold all my self tied little joe spinners. These are becoming hard to find."
