Excellent Rods,January 7, 2009
By Bouser
"I currently have four and am getting four more soon. I use with downriggers and they show no original memory loss after years of trolling. Non-downrigger rods retain an arch after regular use with downriggers."

"These are excellent rods for trolling but they work just as well for big catfish, stripers or any large hard fighting fish including light saltwater species. They are one of the best rods in this price range that will provide a variety of angling applications. They are quality made, durable and dependable."

Just bought a new one,March 21, 2008
By fishfanfrom IL
"I had one of the original Eagle Claw downrigger rods that a friend of mine gave me about 5 years ago. He is a guide on Lake Michigan, and he needs to keep his gear new and current, so he recycled the rod my way for free. I don't know how long he had the rod before giving it to me, but he puts a ton of hours on his gear.
After I got the rod, I used it for regular trolling and pulling planer boards and Dipsey Divers, and it was beautiful at all three tasks. I recently broke the rod on accident, and I had to buy a new one. I guess I could have purchased a different rod than this one, but with the kind of track record that we both got out of the old rod, I figured I'd stay with what worked. Besides that, my buddy is still using Eagle Claw rods on his boat.
Solid hard working rods."
