"I purchased these plugs for my daughters so they could practice casting with their new rods I bought at your store in Maryland. The rods are bass Pro Shop models I found in a "bargain Barrel". They work great too. My two daughters have a blast practicing with them. i have some fun as well. great product."

My review of the practice plug

,
October 18, 2011
By AlG19
from Washington
Advantages: Ease of use, Style/Design, Performs well, Value for money
Disadvantages: eye attachment may be the weak link.
"Nice soft compound (silicone?) easy to use nice for practice during the off season with a bait caster. Bass Pro was the only place I could find these in 1/2Oz. size.
I wanted that size as all of the lures I use with my set-up are at a minimum that weight.
Feels like the eye may come out over time but so far it has not.

Practice plugs

"You can use other things, but these offer great convenience for setting up your reels for weights that would simulate the lures you plan to use to save time on the water for actually fishing (rather than setting up the reel). I used to use various items found in the tool box, but at the price these are well worth having."

Good product

By BIGSKY

Advantages: Performs well
Disadvantages: small veriaty of plug weight
"This is a good practice plug for you to perfect casting in your backyard or in a wide open filed. I recomend not using the 1/2 oz weight considering the fact that most of your bait will weigh about 1/4-3/8 oz. The only negative thing I will say is that there isn't a verry big variaty of plugs."

Wonderful product

By Golfallday
Advantages: Ease of use, Style/Design, Performs well, Value for money, Quality
Disadvantages: line twist
"It's a must if you are new to baitcasting. Practice makes perfect. After long winter layoff, my timing was way off during recent fishing weekend....couple backlashes first dozen or so casts.
Since that trip, been lawn fishing with a bucket down range. Getting the timing down on the thumb/spool again.
I agree that using a snap swivel is a must to avoid line twist"

Not the best solution

,
May 11, 2010

Advantages: available
"I looked all over for a rubber ball with an internal weight and eye hook. Years ago, I bought them for my sons, etc to learn to cast. If they hit something, it would bounce off. This item is the only one I could find for the purpose. Not the best solution but will work."

casting plugs

"These are a must own regardless your style of rod/reel.
A great practise tool and near mandatory for those first starting with new gear.
The one star demerit is due to the wire loop which can catch line, and my dog won't stop chasing them when I cast around the yard.
Buy the 3-pack, it's inexplicably a much better deal.
Cheers!"

Advantages: Quality, Value for money
Disadvantages: Performance
"The plugs are solid, but the split ring is a pain. I use a swivel so I can change between weights quickly when goofing off in the backyard & the line gets tangled in the split ring regularly & if you don't fix it the second you notice it or try to cast it out, it'll get wrapped up to the point you have to cut & retie."

"this is the greatest product ever yesterday i was fishing at a pond nd had only caught a few bass with eitlher crankbaits or live bait so i ran out of weights to get my live bait out far in the deeper water so tied on one of the 1/2 oz ones and a bass struck my worm nd got off so i reeled it in really fast and a bass exploded out of the water and attacked the practice plug it was about a 4lb nd the hook that followed it faul hooked it. I still cant believe that happened i guess it thought it was a top water plug lol."

"These plugs were great for helping me work on my casting accuracy. They also worked well for helping teach my daughter how to cast before we got to the pond. I keep these in my tackle box, and my 4-year-old loves to "fish" with them, as well."
