Endura on a pontoon boat, April 3, 2008
By juiceweasel

"We mounted this trolling motor on the bow of a 25' pontoon boat with a homemade bracket that mounted to the floor. I was impressed with the way that it moved this big boat through the water. Did not drain too much battery either. We got the 50 lb. 42" shaft. Will run in very shallow water and the prop truly is weedless. We have run in some pretty brutal stuff. Wasn't sure when we bought it if it would work with this large boat, but I am very pleased with it."

Good motor, October 2, 2009
By rkimbrel from Ruidoso, NM

"This thing is sturdy and eay to use. Tears through weeds and has a really high quality shaft. The only thing about it is the twist knob that holds it in place slips some and it will creep down after turning a few times to where the motor is lower and lower into the water. I use the 55 thrust on a small 10 foot boat and it gets me around in shallow water all day."

"i use the 30pd thrust model on my 10 ft flat bottom and it does the job great. i was gonna buy a pond prowler but went ahead with this model cause of the telescoping handle . well worth it. its handy to use and propels the boat great. we even put it on a 14ft heavy v bottom sometimes for catfishing and propels it great. your not gonna break any speed records but your just trolling not racing!"

"Very pleased with this purchase. Started out with the 30 lbs thrust for my 8 foot "pond crawler" boat and quickly realized it didn't quite have the get-up-and-go I was looking for. Keep in mind, a pond crawler is not the most stream lined vessel ever built (2 squarish hulls, very boxy and acts a bit like a floating billboard in windy conditions). Sure it would work fine for more efficiently designed boats.

Switched to the 55/36 (i.e., 50 lbs. thrust / 36 inch shaft) and haven't looked back. Small enough to still me "luggable" getting in and out of smaller ponds / creeks / rivers, but strong enough to easily push two adults around and make headway against modestly flowing currents.

Endura 30, June 16, 2009
By EJbasser from Alpharetta Georgia

Advantages: Design, Durability, High Quality, Value for money

"I picked up the Endura 30 for my Old Town Camper Canoe. I fish with my young children and trying to keep them fishing and the canoe on track with a paddle, and fish a little myself, was turning out to be anything but relaxing. I got the motor mount from Old Town and threw this motor on with an 85 amp hour Deep Cycle battery and it works like a champ. More then enough thrust for a canoe. In fact most of the day is spent on speed one or two. On speed two the motor draws about 6 amps. That translates to about 12 hours of run time on the 85 amp hr battery. We added some sit backer seats and some rod holders to the canoe and now we have a great portable (car top) fishing platform."

Pretty good, Not perfect, June 9, 2009
By mike13834 from Waterford, CA

Advantages: Design, Value for money
Disadvantages: Quality

"I purchased my second 50# model a few months ago. My first one failed after only 2 1/2 seasons. First, the speed controller failed to activate the number 2 and 3 reverse speeds durning the first season. Then the motor unit completely failed after 2 1/2 seasons. (I tested by bypassing the speed controller and the motor did not move or buzz) I purchased another one and within a month, it wont activate number 3 reverse. It also squeeks every time I turn it no matter how loose or tight I have the tension knob. I have to keep a can of WD-40 nearby to lube my shaft to slow down the squeek. These problems are not worth my time to return or to try and get MinnKota to fix but it is very annoying! I have purchased various MinnKota motors for more than 20 years. I have always had a problem with their speed controllers but that part is cheap and easy to fix. Most of the motor units fail between 5 and 10 years. Some units seem to last forever and never break. I have a 70# PowerDrive AutoPilot that is 10 years old and still works perfect. That said, I believe MinnKota is the best motor on the market. This model is strong, quiet, shaft is trully unbreakable (but the motor clamp is far from it!), I love the telescoping handle and it runs straight though the thickest of weeds. The only MotorGuide I have ever owned was a power drive but I returned it for MinnKota Autopilot when I discovered it sounded like a loud coffee grinder whenever you activated the steering. I thought that was very poor engineering and never used MotorGuide again. However, I may rethink that if this motor fails as quickly as the first. Seems like the newer things get, the quicker they are engineered to fail. I must say that I use the heck out of my equipment and expect it to perform. I live on a river and fish at least 2 times a week fishing through weed beds and sometimes fast current with my motor on #4 speed for hours on end."

Best trolling motor purchase!, May 13, 2009
By sowbellyhooker from All over Michigan

Advantages: Design, Durability, Features, High Quality, Value for money, quite/strong

"I bought the Minn Kota Endura transom mount while on vacation after we found out the lakes in the area were mostly no gas powered outboards allowed. So we stopped by Bass Pro and chose the 55# thrust troller for my 14 foot deep v. I was overwhelmed how Powerful and Quite it was! It has been 2 years now and its never failed to perform like the day I bought it. I have used it also on a bigger 16 foot aluminum fishing boat also and have never been dissapointed ever. I have also got my fish finders transducer mounted on it. By the way, when I bought this I purchased a spare prop because I was warned that was a weak spot for these trolling motors and I went ahead and got it so I wouldnt be stranded out on the lake.Well, let me telling you, its still in the package as the prop on this Endura seems nearly indestructable. I use a dry cell marine battery and this thing lasts an easy day and a half on the water. You cant go wrong buying one of these."

"i bought one of these a year ago and i love it!! it trolls perfect and is great for small craft like dingys and what not. i love putting it on #1 and just go along the shore lines and cast and work the weed lines. my only problem is i had hauling the batteries with this motor, annoying! i also love it for little speck ponds, nice and silent and they dont spook the fish"

minn kota moves you on the water, April 14, 2009
By shakeybasser from maryland

"i bought my first minn kota (and it's still performing great) almost two years ago after being disappointed with another popular brand breaking down on me. with 46 pounds of thrust, this motor pushes my 12' jon boat all over the reservoir for a full days' fishing. it's great on conserving battery power (i use 2) and is really quiet. hopefully, this motor will last a lot of years, but i'll probably buy a minn kota when the time comes to purchase another trolling motor."

Gets you there and back, March 30, 2009
By bassman34601 from Brooksville,Florida

"I replaced my 30 lb trust Minn kota that I used to push a fully loaded 16' stern back canoe, with the 55lb trust .It should be noted the 30 still works great!, I was looking for more power, and boy I got it with the 55 lb trust. I have found that the 50 seams to draw less on my battery than the 30.I use a deep cell marine with a 125 amp hr rating and I can fish all day."

Weak Tilting Lever, February 23, 2009
By Burke87 from Missouri

"I bought the endura in 46lb 36" shaft for my 17ft flatback canoe. It worked great untill i hit a stump in the number 2 speed setting. The T bolt that adjusts the tilt and the bracket it is attached to shattered. The thing is that when you are useing a trolling motor you are going to hit something. I know that minn kota has a lifetime warrenty on the shafts but that doesnt matter if you break a bracket every time you hit something. I bought this motor because I thought i was getting a good heavy duty product but that wasnt the case. Maybe it was just defective, idk. I returned to to BPS and bought a motorguide varimax. I gave it a 3 because it worked great, except for the weak T bolt and bracket"

A bit disappointed, January 24, 2009
By Chris36695

"I bought the endure 55 to push a Jon boat through some flooded timber land. I expected the trolling motor to push the fairly light weight boat much faster what it did. I may try the power prop to see if there is any improvement. Too bad they didn’t make the prop shaft indestructible, I managed to bend it within the 1st few hours of use. The trolling motor may operate great in weeds, but watch out for submerged sticks. Fortunately, I had a heavy friend stand on the motor next to the prop and bend the shaft back close to straight."

Toughest Trolling Motor Ever!!!!, December 16, 2008
By WillyB23 from Jacksnoville, Fl

"TRUE STORY.... I had one of these mounted on the front of my jon boat.. I was going about 45 MPH down a bumby concrete road. It fell off I ran over it with the trailer it went flying in the air then a guy behind me in a motorcycle ran over it!!!! I thought it was done.. Got to the lake about 10 minutes later and it worked perfectly!!!!! It had some minor scrathes and road rash but the shaft was not bent at all!!!! Used it for about 4 more months then sold the boat.. I will never buy anything but Minn Kota again. Hands down toughest trolling motor ever!!!!"

Can't go wrong, June 28, 2008
By Varodd from St. Louis, MO

"I purchased my Endura 30 on my way to the lake. Took it out of the box and onto the rental boat with a spare auto battery. We spent the whole day running around the lake mostly in 5th speed, with high winds. We banged it off stumps, ran threw the weeds, and sunk it in the mud. This thing just kept going. It also is very quiet. At the end of the day it was running as strong as when we launched. I cant wait to get my deep cycle battery I might be able to get 2 days out of a charge.

If your looking for a motor that is easy on the battery but still will give a kick in the pants in high gear this is the way to go. It's made in the USA with a 3 year warranty to top it all off!!!

Motor Works well, June 28, 2008
By Bloomsburg from Bloomsburg, PA

"Bought a 55lb thrust motor. WOrks well. Hardware and mounting gear seems solid. Motor has held up well so far. Pushes my 14.5ft deep V around well. Battery life is not great at full power. Wobble from handle is kind of annoying. That is my only complaint. Motor will turn around on itself if left unattended.
Overall though with MIR was worth it.
