worth the money/ great deal

Advantages: Performs well, Quality, Value for money
"After using my father's neoprene waders for several years I decided it was time to buy my own. Although these are not neoprene I am very satisfied with the warmth and quality of this product. I used them several times over the spring, summer, and fall in both rivers and lakes. I did not expierience any leaks or difficulty staying warm/cool. In addition, I did not expeirience any tension in the lower legs as I did with my father's neoprene waders, when the water was chest level. Overall I feel that this is a great product and well worth the money. As with all waders, make sure you hose them off when you are done and hang them as if you are wearing them. This should help prevent them from developing holes. Good luck fishing all...... tight lines!"

"I love these waders! I picked up a pair for my wife too. The RedHead Bone-Dry Hobbs Creek chest waders are great. They're very durable and well put together. They make for a comfortable day out. Adjustable suspenders and belt make for a perfect fit and they aren't too hot. The felt soles make for safe travel on slippery terrain. I can stand and fish all day dry, cool, and without sore feet."

"i was skeptical because of how cheap these waders were. they have turned out great. you will need to get some foot warmers and wear longjohns to fish cold waters but are a great year round tough wader. i have the boot foot model and love them."

No More Doubts

Advantages: Ease of use, Style/Design, Performs well, Value for money, good for early spring and fall
"I got the felt sole (size 10) for Christmas. I was arrested by anxiety, wonder'in if any leaks occur. Today I had the chance to try them out in 35 degree water at the Rocky River here in Cleveland, Ohio. The felt sole handled the slippery rocks with no problem. The waist buckle, draw string, and inside pocket is a good thing for waders at this price. No leaks! No Fish! I'm 5'9" 190lbs and the boots fit perfect with room for extra socks. The cold was not a problem with under garment s on. However, I got this pair for early spring and fall fishing, which will be the perfect pair. I had to walk quite a distance to the fishing hole and it was not labor intensive, to me. The reason for my doubts is that I bought a pair of waders from another retailer that had leaked, hence, I will forever be leak-shy when buying waders. I'm glad I got this pair. I will comment on quality come spring. To be continued..."

"The Bone Dry waders are great. It protects your body and totally keeps you dry. I like the idea that I can step into the water when I go fishing and I don't have to freeze my feet off or get stung by jelly-fish. my only suggestion is that maybe the inside of the rubber boot can be lined with a gentler material. especially around the ankle area."

"This is the second pair of waders that I've purchased, the first finally giving out after 30 years of service. Obviously, there have been improvements since my original purchase.
My first impression of these waders was favorable and continues to be. The waders were delivered within three days after purchase, which was unexpected. Trying them on confirmed that the sizing instructions were accurate. Go with what they recommend. (If you want to wear more than one pair of socks, increase the shoe size.)
Now the pros and cons.
The waders are strong yet flexible. The straps and belt are wide and easy to work with. The boots (felt soles) are easy to walk in and they are definitely comfortable to fish in. They keep out the cold when fishing in 43 degree water.
The only con is they are somewhat inflexible when trying to climb out of the stream. The knee padding somewhat resticts easy knee flexing but not to the degree that you can't climb a bank.
Summary: A great pair of boot waders for the price. You could spend more but if you're not a guide and stream fish 4 to 6 times a year, this will suit your needs. Wear two pairs of socks if wading in cold water. A light cotton pair under a wool pair will work better than just one pair of wool socks.
Recommendation: Yep, I'd buy them again and recommend them to a friend."

Redhead Bone- Dry Waders

,
March 31, 2011
By Cdcaddis
from York, PA
Disadvantages: too heavy
"I can't attest to the waterproof quality of these waders as I never got them wet. However they are the heaviest felt sole boot foot wader I have ever seen. They weighed significantly more than a comparable pair from another outdoor big box store. They might be fantastic in the long run for keeping you dry but I think you'd get tired quickly wearing them."

"The wader is great, lighter & more flexible yet durable than I expected. It is comfortable and not too hot though I'm using it in a tropical country like Thailand. The shoe size is a bit tricky. I usually wear size 7 but I ordered size 8, and they luckily fit me well. I am very satisfied with the quality and reasonable price. 5 stars for this item!"

Too short

Advantages: Performs well, Quality
Disadvantages: Difficult to use
"Seem to be great waders, but they are way to short. The boot size is about right. I am 6' 1" tall and if I use the suspenders maxed out they are too tight to sit. Also, the belt is too low and fits about mid-butt. Boots are too heavy also."

Great pair of waders

Advantages: Ease of use, Style/Design, Performs well, Value for money, Quality, warranty
"I have used these waders for going on 2 years now and I have not had any complaints about them. They are made of a strong 3-ply material so it holds up well against abrasion. The boots are durable rubber with 200g. thinsulate, just enough to keep you from getting cold. I wouldnt recommend these for cold weather unless you plan on bundling up witha couple layers underneath, which they give you plenty of room to do so! Comes with a belt and an inner pocket for small storage."
