"I bought one of these rods to be my back-up spinning set for fishing weightless senkos. I used the rod one day and it did a good job but it lacks some of the feel of better rods. I was not able to sense the slight pick ups the way I can in my more senstive rods. It does have a good backbone. I would say it works well if you are on a budget and not willing to spend over a hundred bucks for the high end rod."

"This rod has excellent back bone and tip action and does all it says it would. My only negative is I wish the tip eye was different. Like the one that was on the original spider wire rods made years ago that was a molded plastic style, titanium inside giude. Other than that the rod is all as good as my $150.00 rods for braid."

"This is a very good rod. You can feel the bottom very well and tip sensitivity is excellent BUT, I snagged some rocks this morning and Trying to pop over and out I snapped the rod in two about 2 feet from the end. It really didnt take much. I would question landing anything bigger than an average large mouth or similar fish."

"This rod is great the is only a few problems... The first is that i orderd the 6' rod for my Shimano Sahara 2500FD and the rod tip from the first to the second eye broke ... Second took two months for mine to get in because of back order... But it is a great rod for a good price to ... i higly recomend to get as a gift or even a gift for yourself..."

"I ordered this rod in early april and just got it last thursday due to over a two month back order. Thats the only complaint i have with this rod. This rod is very light and sensitive, but is still very strong. IT cast braided line so easily as if it was plain old flurocarbon. I love this rod and you cant beat the price."

"Although it (SHS701M) was on backorder for over a month it was well worth the wait. I believe that this is the best $50 rod that is available…PERIOD. Its action and weight (VERY, VERY light) is almost a clone of the $150 Carrot Stix at one third the price and I thought the Carrot Stix was the best trout spinning rod available. This rod gives me as good feel as my old 9ft GLoomis Steelhead/Salmon rod that cost me $275 fifteen years ago. I like it so much that I may buy a 2nd one for backup."

"I purchased a Med 7ft as a practice rod and paired it with a 6.4.1 BC with 10lb Mono, tied on a 3/8 White SB with Chartreuse Trailer. The rod feels nice, good feel when the fish hit the SB, I would have 2 say 4 the price, this is a nice quality rod and will do the job when $$$ is a factor, Are there more Sensitive & Better Rods? I'm Sure there are, but does it get the JOB done and not burn a SINKHOLE in your pocket - Yes it does and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice quality rod that will handle Braided line, Not Heavy either.
Only Problem is BPS can't keep them in Stock!!!!"

"This is a nice rod for 50 bucks. It is light, sensitive and it looks good too. I have the 7' ML paired with a Bass Pro Extreme 100 spooled with 6lb Trilene Sensation. It is a nice combo for under $90."

"I recently had the chance to use my newly purchased Lightning Rod Shock, and I was far from disappointed! This rod is really strong, yet extremely sensitive. I also checked around, and this is the ONLY rod I could find with the split-grip design that costs under $100. The split-grip cork handle is really comfortable and I could feel every small vibration coming from the other end of my line. I paired this rod with a Quantum Energy PTi reel, and it makes the best combo I've ever fished!"
