"Wow this reel is amazingly smooth, Caught my first bass on a 1.5 rc lure sexy shad....5 pound bass it was so fun...it wasnt so hard to reel it but felt so nice and smooth in your hands you just want to sleep with it at nite ...pretty cool color I really like it...it shows its smoothness ! 7ft mh rod with 14 lb xps flour. must try this reel out ...its my favorite so far ..I was gonna get the revo sx but this reel had it all !"

"Paired the Energy PT (E100pPT) with the 5.1.1 retreivel speed onto my 7" ft med-heavy , moderate action Mojo crankin rod, very confortble. Pulled this 4 and 3/4 LB bass out of Local southeren Maryland lake. After casting out far with 14 LB Berkly Vanish line, I cranked him in with ease. Cought the bass with a baby bass rattle trap ."

"I have 3 Energy PT's. 2 new and 1 older one! I love these reels. quantum makes some of the finest fishing reels in the baitcast models by far. they are smooth, both in casting and in retrieving. even if you got a bigger fish on :)
the only thing I wish is that Quantum would of stayed with the older finish on the new Energy PT reels. other than that, I have no complaints

"I just got the high speed version of this reel and I'm blown away by the smoothness. It is just as smooth as my new Quantum Tour Edition. I think it may be even quieter. I had to lube it up right out of the box because it felt dry when I was playing with it before I spooled it up. I spooled it up with 12 lb Berkley Vanish FC. I caught several bass on jigs as well as lipless crankbaits and it has performed well with both. It casts far and is very smooth. I might stick with these instead of buying more Tour Editions!"

"this is like my 3rd baitcaster an im in love with it. works great rite out of the box. casts a mile with weight or no weight. great overall reel...u can use it 4 frogs, worms, crankin, pitchin, flippin, or even finess style baits...i wouls recomend taking apart the reel an cleaning out the oil an grease that has already been put in there..an lube it urself with what u thinks works best 4 u another great reel from quantum......great job!!!!! :) good luck, an tight lines :)"

"Very smooth retrieve. As good as anything for the same price.
Casts are good. Nothing blew me away, but all my reels are pretty good. The loud buzzing sound from the prior model is gone, it makes a whirr similar to most other baitcasters now.
There are 2 different types of "smooth" to me with each being "equal but different" to me.
There's you can't feel anything but your lure smooth (shimano's), and there's really fast to the point the reel wants to turn itself it seems (Revo's). Well, this quantum, unlike their reels in the past, is more "can't feel anything but your lure smooth".
Also, there is NO spool wobble or handle backplay in the reel I got. Either of those can make a clacking sound as you retrieve the reel which can get annoying."

"I have always been reluctant to buy fishing products just because a particular "pro" uses or recommends the product. However, as I fish Lake Amistad in Texas many times a year and recently had the chance at Amistad to talk with KVD I decided to give his product a try. I paired the energy E100Ppt reel with the KVD quantum tour rod (7ft. MH). What a tremendous combo for crankbaits. I have landed around 25 black bass mostly in the 2-3 lb range with one going a little over 6lbs and this setup really does an excellent job. Casts are long and smooth and the reel in both with and without a fish on board is flawless. I plan to get a second reel and load it onto the 7-10 KVD tour rod. One of the best reels I own."

"I bought this reel a few weeks ago. Since then I have fished quite a few different fish. I must say that this reel out performed my daiwa and shimano reels all together!
I have fished everything from bass to northern pike with this reel and I even used it to fish for lake trout in Missouri. Versatility is key, this reel performs well even when fishing for fish which it wasn't made for! I give it the highest rating possible because after the abuse I have put it through in the last few weeks, it is still just as smooth as when I took it out of the box.

"Quantum has done a wonderful job in crafting a fine piece of fishing equipment! I have several of the previous generation reels, and was very pleased with them, and the same holds true for these new reels. From the lighter weight, to the lower profile, these new reels are worlds apart from their older counterparts. I thoroughly enjoy fishing with these new reels. They cast great, reel great, and look great!! Yes they did drop the Infinte ACS cast control,but the new ACS II is just a nice. It may not have all the differnt positions that the former models have,but that in no way keeps it from casting just as well as them. I can select the correct setting much quicker and with out much effort. Not that the other system was bothersome to operate, it just seemed like it took longer to select the right setting for the lure that i was using. It is much more forgiving than the Infinte ACS. Also another thing that i like about the new reels is that the thumb button is lower on the frame, thus placing it closer to the rod. This may feel a little awkward at first, but after fishing with it for awhile, it makes me want all my reels to be like it! Overall these new reels are just about perfect. From the price, to the fit and finish, they are awesome reels!"

"I've bought one of these reels 10 years ago and with regular cleaning and lubeing It still works great, so when I wanted a second bait caster I new the energy would be a great choice.
