A lighter, stronger version of the original President®, the President® XT is equipped with a smooth front drag system with stainless steel and oiled felt washers. Weight-saving features include an anodized aluminum spool with distinctive hole pattern for lighter weight, corrosion-resistant stainless steel components, machined-aluminum handle with Soft Touch knob, 9-bearing system with one-way clutch bearing, Sure-Click Bail®, titanium spool lip and line roller. An aluminum spare spool is included. Line recovery in inches per handle turn.

"this reel is a great one for bothe fresh and salt water. it is durable and is well worth the money. pair it up with a medium or medium/heavy action rod and your on your way. the only thing is you have to make sure you fill the spool correctly. if theres not enough line then it will drastically affect your casting distance"

"This reel is very good for the money. It's not quite as smooth as I'd like but its decent. Great for crankbaits. Doesn't have as good as retrieve as my Supreme."

Best reel ever for me,

"I have always used shimano reels but this has been the smoothest reel ever for the money that I have paid. It is solid under heavy working conditions (Niagara River Ontario). I am waiting to go to Lake Huron for some salmon.."

"this reel has a smooth action and it has great line capacity and the bale is strong it is easy to clean and the drag works great on the on all species of freshwater game fish and the salt water reel works just as well for saltwater inshore fishing and the handle on the reel works is comfortable"

"I'm a primary smallmouth fisherman, so i throw spinner baits all day, i have used the old Pflueger® President® for years. by the end of a 8 hour day of fishing my hands have had it. with this new xt its much lighter and smoother my hands dont take near the beating i love it. best real i have."

"by far this is the smothest reel ive ever cast so far ,i have a quik fire shimano reel and it doesnt compete with this reel as far as smothness, relability dont know yet because i just bought it, the test of time will let me know what this reel is made of. recomended for the serious angler who is looking for a a smooth reel.the 10 bearing system is top of the line .really didnt have to use force when casting ,matched up with braided line 20lbs test , i was impressed the the reel and the line working together casting very far from where i was ,reeled it back hooked up 9lb striper the fight was no match for the reel drag system. give it 5 stars and 2 thumbs up"
