"I don't use these reels anymore, but I've recommended it to friends; who want an excellent reel without breaking the bank. You won't find a better spinning reel under a $100, not even close. I rated it lower because of durability, but this is only during extreme usage."

"I have 2 of these reels which I bought because they were 1/2 price and I am glad I did. There are better reels on the market but can cost alot more. The reel performs well and the drag is very smooth. It is very durable and comfortable to fish with. Best reel in this price range and according to a FLW magazine article I read is used by Pro anglers."

"I was looking for a more reliable spinning reel to use while I'm jig fishing for crappie. One tha t doesn't twist the line and cause knots while casting and still light weight enough to use on my ultra light rods. THIS IS IT. I absolutely love this reel. I fish regularly with this reel and expect to purchase another one soon. Anybody interested in some used spinning reels of various brands? Great reel!"

"The 503 and 504 are extremely solid reels at a great price. That have good, smooth drags and have held up well in the saltwater. They have been out quite a few times and still look like new, especially if you take care of them. They also have lots of bearings and are smooth on the retrieve. The Abu spinning reels keep getting better, so start picking them up."

"i bought this reel after owning the cardinal 304 and loved it. this reel is really smooth and casts great. i fish atleast three to for times a week so i get some good use out of my gear. i have boated a couple dinker bass pound- two pound i am hoping to get into some big boys with this reel to see what it is really made of."

"I Love My new cardinal 501, its super smooth and a very quality product wich is expected from Abu Garcia. I have it paired with a 5' light action Ugly Stick Lite spinning rod, awesome for fightin' big slabs and panfish. I already ordered the the 503 too, can't wait to get it."
