Best rod out there,
October 27, 2009
By Jeffhcb
from NY, but fish in Florida
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money
Disadvantages: none
"There is really no other rod out there like this. I am a big G. Loomis fan. They are the class of the industry. But these rods are just a bit lighter and more sensitive. They cast incredibly. That is one thing I think most reviewers fail to mention. I have the 7'6" model and it casts on a dime. Long, and straight as an arrow. I have fished it relatively hard in saltwater on some very tough fish. I even accidentally hooked a 150lb tarpon on this rod. Of course I didnt land it, as I was on shore and it busted off my leader. But the rod did not break like a lot of these guys claim the rod does on 2 lb fish. I dont get that. This thing has crazy backbone. If i had tied a better leader, who knows. I felt confident I could have had a chance at that fish had I had enough line.
Match up a Stradic 3000 on this and you'll be in love. The cabo is a good choice too, but a little heavy for this rod. Get one, you'll love it.

Advantages: Performs well
Disadvantages: Durability
"I’ve owned two e21 Salty Carrots. They are defiantly the most sensitive rod I’ve fished. I caught a slot red on my very first cast and figured the rod was blessed from heaven. However, I find them a bit fragile. I broke the first one after a couple months use. It broke while casting a light jig. The second rod was laying on the floor of my boat with three other rods, and I drove to the coast. On arrival, I found three good rods and a broken Carrot. Something is off. I also noticed they changed sponsors this year. I wish I knew how much action they see on their warranties."

Great Value!,

"This rod is a great value for a higher mid-range rod. The warranty is tough to beat. Bass Pro will honor the over-the-counter exchange with proof of purchase.
The good - great guides, plenty of backbone to handle oversized reds, great action for working artificials, super sensitive (especially when paired with a superline), extremely light weight and balanced well from the factory.
The bad - have had to test the warranty out. The tip guide foot came loose from the epoxy; while still functional, it caused trouble with superline tangling itself."

Bugs Bunny would be proud!,

"The thought of one of my rods is made of carrots, leaves a sweet taste in my mouth, considering I cook for a living, and live to fish. The novelty of it was my first thought to buy, but I would tell all to try one out. I bought this rod (7' CSIS70M-F-S 6-15lb line class) as a light weight salt and heavy freshwater. Couldn't be happier with the weight and strength. Its sensitivity is amazing."
