Vortex Viper 10x42,November 14, 2009
By Zman68from Charlotte NC
Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money Disadvantages: packaging could be more attractive..
"Not a bad pair of Bnoculars....I have not been able to compare them to Nikon's X yet, but did some test at my local hunting store. We took a bunch of these out and compared them. We compared these to Kahles, Leica, Steiner, Leupold and Nikon Monarch...The Nikon Monarch did not compare..The Leupold Mohave was close but felt cheaper. The Leica did not impress me especially for 2400 bucks. The Kahles was just as good if not a little better at gathering light, but once again 800 dollars. The Steiner Merlin was quite comparable...I like the feel of the Steiner and the optics were extremely close. But the Steiner has a 30 Yr. warranty. So for 519 dollars, the Vortex Viper was a very comparable set of binoculars and with an unconditional lifetime warranty. I was hoping for a more attractive presentation on the packaging and the Carry case should be an Olive green with a heavier duty strap...Get that corrected and its the Best for 500 dollars....Thanks Vortex."

AWESOME GLASS,July 28, 2009

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money
"I am a professional guide and avid hunter in eastern NV for mule deer, elk, antelope, predators etc. I purchased the Vortex Viper 10x42 binoculars as a lightweight alternative to the Swarovski glass I use on a tripod. I needed a lighter pair of binos for stalking game and day long hikes. The quality and clarity of the glass is unmatched for the price. I have used them for nearly two years now and they still look and perform like new. Side by side on tripods, the Vipers outperform my buddies 10x42 Zeiss binos hands down in my opinion. They are still not quite as crisp as the Swarovskis but the Vipers are definitely money will spent."

Awesome Glass,July 6, 2009

"I own two pairs of Vortex binos, both in 8x42 and a 4-12x42 rifle scope. The Razor's are outstanding for long distance glassing or glassing for long periods of time. I also own the Viper's and am equally impressed. The Viper's are more geared toward the bowhunter as they are smaller and lighter. I have looked through a buddy's Swarovski's and could not tell the difference other than field of view (wider). I'm now looking toward a spotting scope. Recommend to anyone looking for good glass on a budget."

WOW, all I can say is WOW ! !,December 2, 2008
By Shtronwheelsfrom West Virginia
"Okay, I started with a pair of 8.5X50 for 3d and hunting. I then went and got a pair of 15X50 for glassing. I compared these to many different very high end binos (swar, zeiss,to many to list). I also shoot competitive archery where spotting is critical. I can't tell you how many times I have loaned these to other shooters to spot their arrows. They are amazed everytime. I currently have 4 pair of vortex binos and 2 spotting scopes. I just ordered 2 of their rifle scopes. To say I am impressed is an understatement. I had one problem with an eye cup of one of my binos. I sent it back to the company and they had it back to me repaired in less than 7 days. How can you beat that?? Oh, and of course no charge. Lifetime guaranteed."

"These are exceptional at any price. Lifetime unconditional warranty. Clarity is superb, even at the outer edges. Could not be happier. Highly recommend them as they compare very favaorable with glass twice the price or more."

By ElkStalkerfrom Green River, WY
"These binos are first class, great feel and exceptional clarity. They are like having your eyes right next to what your looking at. The warranty that comes with these binos is outstanding, willing to standby them for life which you don't get with more expensive glass."
