"I bought a MH 7' rod with the 2500 reel. I bought this before I ever tried a baitcaster. The setup is awesome but I have no use for it now that I have the baitcaster for anything that requires a MH rod. I wish I would have bought a M action rod...that would have been a great setup."

"I went to BPS to buy an MH rod and the 2500 reel for my son's 13th birthday in anticipation of our trip to Canada this summer. I was so impressed I bought an L rod and 1000 for myself, use it for trout, casting light weight lures for bass and walleye jigging. The quick fire mechanism is a great invention and allows you to really work a lot of water. I love the feel of the rod when jigging and working other light soft baits. The rods have plenty of muscle and the drag is super easy to adjust in the fight. My son caught a 39" northern on his MH set an hour into the trip and had never been pike fishing in his life before. I caught a nice northern jigging a minnow for walleye on my light weight set, the jig hook bent but the fish was boated!"

Very NICE!, April 4, 2009
By BassMasterDavis from Duncan, Ok

"I bought this a few weeks ago with the 2500 series model on a 6'6 MH rod. The reel works and casts so smoothly I have not picked up my other rods since I bought this. Casting is a breeze, very comfortable rod, and reel...I am going to buy another one of the 4000 series reel and rod combo's again in the near future..A+ in my book"

"I own a 4000 model & 2000 model and the 2000 is my favorite mounted on 6' Bass Tourney rod. I was from midwest and moved to Colorado and I have used for both bass and trout with no problems. smooth operation and easy to cast with light lures. I am now looking to purchase the newest model 2500."
