"Have no issues in engaging or disengaging the rattle on this bait. The bad part is the rattle does NOT stay engaged for more than a cast or two. It becomes neccessary to re-engage rattle too frequently for my taste. Aside from that this is a nice lure. But they need more work on getting the rattle to stay engaged."

Great Idea, but rattle hard to use, July 20, 2009
By Catrookie from La Vergne, TN

Advantages: Style/Design
Disadvantages: Difficult to use, rattle does not stay engaged.

"Before I hit the water with this lure for the first time, I practiced turning on and off the rattle until it became second nature. Whenever I casted this lure with the rattle engaged, the rattle locked during the cast. It happens in every cast and I cannot keep the rattle engaged. I did catch some fish with the rattle off, but I wouldn't buy this lure again, unless someone can show me how to keep the rattle engaged."

Wormnut is catching them on a Crankbait!, June 30, 2009
By WormNut from Houston, TX

Advantages: Performs well, Quality
Disadvantages: takes practice to turn rattle off and on.

"I bought several of these and haven't had any trouble turning the rattle on or off. It took a little practice and I had to read the instructions twice but now its a snap. I've been using the BTS6D with the rattle off and just the other day caught two really nice keepers, one three pounds and another about 4 pounds and lost another good one because I though I was hung up in deep grass (stupid me) and when I realized it was a good fish (it came up and jumped) it was too late. I just wish I would have started throwing this crankbait sooner in the day. The baits run true and have a tight wiggle, the hooks are good and the foxy shad finish is awesome. This bait also floats up really slowly so it just stops when you pause it or work it with a pull and reel retreve. I'd quit worring about the rattle and just fish it. The Wormnut is catching fish on a CRANKBAIT! Wow!"
