"For the simple tasks of rigging a lure and getting out hooks these pliers are fine. The best feature is they float. For canoe and kayak use they are a wonderful addition to an anglers gear."

"i do alot of hardcore saltwater fishing the plyers stand up to whether cutting braid or 150 lb mono these plyers cut it all. Great for the money and superb quality"

"The original Xtools pliers are junk. They don't grip the hook well and flex pretty easily when you try and clamp down on them. These have the metal jaw as well as cutters on them. The cutters are actually pretty good but because the pliers are pretty fat, if you have to trim a tag end on a crankbait or something, it can be a little difficult. The metal inserts on the pliers grip hooks a lot better than the original ones. I've used them in both fresh and salt and they've held up though because they aren't that strong, I wouldn't recommend them for big saltwater game fish."

"At first I thought these tools looked cheap and would fall apart. But after going through several metal pliers due to rust and the a couple to the bottom of the bay, I decided to give these a try. I am 100 percent behind these pliers. When they say they cut braided line, it's like butter. They float, hardly have to worry about rust, lightweight, and work great."
