"Used the Penn Level Wind Reel with Line Counter while trolling for salmon on at the mouth of the Columbia River in Oregon. Guide recommended a line count for each of four anglers and we were right on target with our depths. Limited out on Salmon and no line tangles. Amazing experience with a great reel."

"No, I have not used my Penn reels yet. Since I live in Michigan, I plan to wait until the ice melts off the big lake before I venture out after salmon,steelhead and brown trout.
The reels were received in a timely fashion and in excellent condition.
i am sure I will be ordering other items as the spring arrives.
I will provide you some feedback after I have fished with the reels. I have fished with Penns in the past and have always found them to perform well"

"i dont have the penn 209 with the line counter. i never had any problems with my penn reels . maybe every 2 years i replace the worm and pawl but thats it... for the price of these reels u cant beat them"
