"If you ice fish you have to have a good skimmer. This is one of the best. I prefer a metal skimmer over plastic. A metal one can be banged on the ice to clear the little drain holes. Plastic ones do not hold up as well in freezing temps."

"The Bass Pro Shops metal skimmer is the sturdier, more reliable cousin of the plastic skimmer, which has been known to break in extreme cold. The metal version, however, sf a high quality must-have for any ice fisherman. I have never used the chisel end, but the solid construction of the skimmer ensures it will last a lifetime."
