"Sometimes i am limited to fishing only from shore and need a line that will get me to spots where the fish are holding and this line deffinitley does that. I use it in the #8 size and have not had a problem with it breaking when using a 1/4 ounce tube."

Line breaks for no reason,August 21, 2009
By ScottH
Advantages: Ease of use Disadvantages: Durability
"When I first started using this product, I thought that I had found the ultimate fishing line. It has so many of the properties that fishermen (and ladies) want including ease of casting, easy to tie, little tangles and small diameter. However, after only a short time the line began to break for no apparent reason. When using Senko's, the line would break in mid-cast and off my worm would fly.
I have no idea why this line breaks after a short period of time but I will never use it again."

Not as good as the old,June 20, 2009
By Ballistikfrom Michigan
Advantages: Ease of use Disadvantages: Durability, breaks easier then the old super braid
"I was in love with the old Stren Super Braid. Then they discontinued it, so I was left to try the NEW sonic braid. Well I like to use 20# test and with the old I never had an issued with breaking or anything negative. But with this sonic I have broken off 2 lures in one day and 3 more since then. The line cast great and keeps its color fairly good but the strength of the line is questionable. With the old line which I would switch between reels and the end of every year and get 2-3 years out of it, has never broke. The New Sonic Braid breaks easily and is not of the same quality. This is just my opinion but I was forced to switch and absolutely love the new P-Line Braid. Hope this helps."

I thought sonic ment good!?,June 10, 2009
By pintobean
Disadvantages: Difficult to use, Durability, Performance, pricey
"I bought this and put it on mitchell outrigger/ berkley amp combo. I put it on my reel and it was frayed at the end. I tried to cut it with scissors and it would fray even more! It's color rubs of on to the rod guides and your fingers. When I was tying a knot the line just snapped. Also the line would peel of the reel if you ever touched it. Stick with Trilene Big Game or some other high quality mono!!!"

Excellent braid,May 28, 2009
By DTfisherfrom New Hampshire
"I gave this only 4 stars for one reason, it has a tendency to stick a little so that the casting is not as far as Stren's other braids. It handles in pickerel strikes (several...actually 13 to be exact). I never had to change the line. It handles very well with different lures but seems to allow the neutral bouancy lures to float up a bit (that may be the diameter I am using as well). I used mostly a Palomar knot. I handled this great but I also used a simpler knot that I came up with & that handled a 3.19 lb bass without a slip. I was using an 80 lb test. I would not recommend using this unless you were going for pike & maybe muskie. I made a mistake on the diameter. If you read the diameters, you should be fine. It is to note that I should've lost a lure but the 80lb test allowed me to only lose a treble hook. Things to think about."

Very strong,May 13, 2009
By bucknutfrom Ohio
Advantages: Performs well, Quality, strength
"This is the strongest braid I have ever used. In my opinion, it casts a little different than other braids. The Glidecoat technology they advertise makes it a lot smoother line and it doesn't take as much effort to throw your lure a mile. Extremely limp with no memory and the knot strength is great, too. The price is still a little high, but the quality and performance makes up for it."

Best braid ever,May 12, 2009
By bassaholic85from Lebanon Ohio
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money Disadvantages: floats, pricey
"All i can say is wow. Im convinced you could pull a truck out of the mud with this line. Ive been snagged and pulled tree limbs out of the water instead of breaking the line. INSANELY strong. Only negative things i could say is its pricey( you get what you pay for though) and it floats if you plan on using for bottom or bobber fishing kind of annoying but i can deal with it. Zero memory. Its absolutely awesome line."

My #1 braid,April 1, 2009
By DrBassfrom Tx.
"One more time Stren has made a "One of a kind" line. It has a small diameter, it is super strong, and has good knot streath. It can cast a mile "But the lake I fish is not that wide" so you can cover a large place in a short time. I have had jist one backlash and it was that I did not change the settings after I changed My lure. I have this braid on one of My Browning Mides baitcast combos and so far it has out fished the other one. I spool My reals with at lest one half Monofilament then this braid over it. "If you use Bass Pro Tourney Tough in green and Stren Sonic Braid the color is the same and it harder to tell it is not all braid." This way you have all the braid you can cast and the back up line you need. Spoolling this way will save you money and your R.O.I. will be beter.
Keep fishing and remember "The time you stop fishing is the time you stop catching." Dr. Bass"

fantastic line !!!!,March 20, 2009
By Riverkingfrom Manteca Ca.
"I have used Berkley's Fire Line for years , practically since it came out . Other lines would come out and I would try many of them but usally returned to Fire line . I had an opportunity recently to try Stren's Sonic Braid and in an instant thought this was the greatest line I've ever used . My mind is not usally changed very quickly but this line is really different than the rest out there . It has a smoothness not found in braids . I fish a lot in the Calif. Delta and found this line not necessary for a flurocarbon leader . I put on a 14# test for cranking and spinnerbaits and with only a 3# test diameter you could feel everything that bait did . They did not have the heavier line in stock so I had to order it to use with jigs and worms but I'm sure I will be just as pleased . I guess I'm just amazed at the changes we have seen in our tackle in recent years . I fished from 1950 to about 1975 with very few big changes in our sport but when BASS came along and fishing wasn't something we just did for fun anymore and men started earning a living at fishing the equipment , boats , rods , reels and every thing that's tied to your line has gotton better . This new line which I think is great will some day be improved . But until then this line gets 5 stars ."

Great line, great buy,February 2, 2009

"This line is some of the best line I have ever used. I use this line mainly for muskie and catfish, but it is also great on bass. You can easily see the line in the water, but the fish don't. This line is strong and give you great hooksets. I would definitely recommend this line to anone."

OUTSTANDING LINE!!,December 31, 2008
By Bassmackerfrom Texas
"This line is absolutely ridiculous. For the diameter, the strength of it is absolutely preposterous. I got the 14 pound test/ 3 pound diameter, and I thought fireline was innovative! Stren really outdid themselves on this one, because this stuff is amazing. It has all the qualites that anyone and everyone is looking for in a line. Small diameter, AMAZING castability, low stretch, fantastic abrasion resistance, super low memory, you name it, this line has it. The price is high, but it is the same as other braids, and, you can't put a price on a great day of fishing."
