Better products out there, May 15, 2009
By LTGreg from Zion, IL

Advantages: Ease of use
Disadvantages: Durability, Performance

"Weather is extremely important to ships at sea, and there is no better tool to help predict weather than a barometer. This barometer, however, lacks the robustness required of a handheld. Without a case, it gets jarred around and bumped in my tackle box, and will not maintain an aquarate reading. Similarly, the sensitivity is less than that of neary every other barometer I've used.

For a weekend fisherman, this may be OK, but for the money there are many many affordable electronic weather stations (I've seen them for less than $20 at bass pro) that will not only tell you barometric pressure, but change in barometric pressure, humidity, and temperature. Most will even interpret the data for you and inform you of weather changes before they occur.

In summary, this is a neat little gadget, but there are better options out there.

Fishing Barometer, April 27, 2009
By fishinggranny from Michigan

Advantages: Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money

"After reading some of the negative reviews, I thought I would purchase this anyway for the price was relatively inexpensive. I got online, got the correct barometric reading and set it. You do have to have a small amount of patience and a steady hand or the needle with jump, but after 2 tries I got it dead on. We had a storm moving in and it registered just that. I am very pleased with this, for the money, it works great!!!!"

Digital may be better, April 16, 2009
By Devildog126 from Florence, MS

Advantages: Style/Design, Value for money
Disadvantages: Performance, difficult to set up, inaccurate after small shock

"Trac Fishing Barometer is hard to calibrate with rear set screw. When calibrating needle jumps and is very hard to place exactly on proper number. If unit is slightly bumped the needle jumps and is hard to get back to original location. A digital Barometer might be better and less complicated in comparison to this model."
