"I bought this product for both game viewing and for a security application, to take photos of intruders on the property. I was a bit dissapointed with the night time IR images. If there is no moon, the pictures are almost black. You need at least a bit of moon. I have tried a few IR products before and they are all the same. It has nothing to do with the camera, but rather the technology. It is impossible to take a clear daylight picture at night without giving off a big flash of light. This product tries to make the best of an almost impossible situation and does quite a good job. The daylight pictures are superb. The software is functional and adds a date and time and temperature to each shot, which is useful. Software allows you to add a map of your property. I have loaded a Google Earth shot and this works very well.
Construction is sturdy and I like to think that it will withstand an onslaught from a baseball bat.
Be careful when ordering the memory card. Basspro suggested an SD card to go with it and I ordered that too, only to find it takes a CF card, so make sure you know the difference when ordering the card. Luckily, I happened to also need the SD card for another application . It is a good idea to buy 2 cards for changing them around when you want to view the pictures.
Batteries last quite long. I have had my camera going for 10 days and it says I have 70% battery life left .
The camera has a rather large amount of different settings but I have found that the factory default settings work fine. If theft is a concern then get an anti-theft device as well, otherwise it will be very easy to steel.
I have found that the camera is so well camoflaged that I sometimes have to search a while before I find it. This is good if you intend to use it for humans. Bad if you are getting on in years. This camera costs more than some of the others, but you get what you pay for. I believe it is going to last a long time. Installation is simple, easy and quick. This enables me to move it around often."

"This new Reconyx RC60 cam is Great. You can't see any Red glow at all from the IR. I mean no noise or IR glow you can't even tell if the camera is taking a picture at all no way for deer to know also! Battery life is great I am past 5000 pictures and still going strong cam is very easy to setup and use. PIR sensor is great I already have two Reconyx RM45's cams also and this new RC60 is even better haveing color pictures at day, very good range IR B/W pics at night with no visable red IR led glow at all. Great cam has to be the best cam going at this time."
