"I kayak a lot and as such I take a swim from time to time. MOST of those times my cell phone was in my front pocket. You know your phone is dead when you're trying to get back in the boat and your pocket is vibrating non-stop (that's how cell phones scream). After ruining my third cell phone I paid the $15.00 for one of these Pelican cases. When I get into my 'yak I just throw my cell in there, latch it shut and I'm good to go! I can even see the front display through the top of the case and tell what time it is and if I've missed any calls."

"This is small and cheap, and certainly waterproof. I fish in a small creek where I wade in, and like to carry my phone with me, especially when I am camping with my friends on the bank. I have the 1040 in red, and I can fit it in my pocket or my tackle bag, or even my Plano tackle belt, and I can also fit my wallet, phone, and Ipod in it, with a little bit of extra space for maybe a package of baits or two. As a test, I submerged this thing under the water for at least thirty seconds, and not a drop got in."
