Good 9mm for a Good price!, November 7, 2009
By beemaze from Orange County, CA

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money

"Shot the 9mm SXZ training ammo through a SIG P226, Argentine Hi-Power, and Steyr pistol without any problems whatsoever. Reasonably accurate and supposedly has a coating which reduces wear on your barrel compared to regular FMJ ammo - a claim which I cannot substantiate, but if it's an accurate claim then that's a good thing! The other nice thing about this ammo is that it is actually available unlike the Bulk UMC 9mm ammo. 9mm ammo is becoming harder to get simply because of the economics behind it. .40S&W and .45ACP are way more expensive and 9mm gives you the same amount of bang for less!!! Increased demand, less supply in an economic recession where every dollar counts."

Winchester SXZ - Good Performer!, October 30, 2009
By OldGyrene

Advantages: Performs well, Quality, Value for money

"Fired my first box of SXZ9 today and was very pleased. Groups were as good or better than the "White Box" and fed perfectly every time in my Glock 19 (but then I have never had an FTF or any other issue with the G19). No issues with cleaning either. Paid $12.99/50 rounds, slightly higher than WWB but much more readily available at this time. Good product."

"Fed 100 rounds without a hangup through my Glock 19 yesterday. Held respectable groups out to 25 yards. Was using the FMJ load haven't gotten the JHP loads yet. Can't beat the price for the performance I encountered!!"

Different experience than others, May 15, 2009
By RickJ from St Louis MO

Disadvantages: Performance

"I tried this 9mm ammo, both the training rounds and the protection rounds, in a Taurus PT-92, a Taurus PT-609Ti, and a Beretta 92FS, and it jammed in both of the Taurus weapons in less than 10 rounds and in the second magazine with the Beretta. All three weapons are well maintained and have not had difficulties with other ammunition. My experience with this ammo is much different than the other reviewers here. The rounds that DID feed held a reasonable group."

sxz, May 15, 2009
By Beebop2970 from Lebanon, TN

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money

"I have used this in my beretta px4 storm and pretty good results. groups a little low but might be the shooter.. the best I could do was 1 inch groups at 25 yards ammo is very smooth when chambering. pretty good round for the buck. would use again because it makes a great target round. I was shooting hollow point 180 grain 40S&W rounds"

Great ammo for the price, March 8, 2009
By Surfaugy from Oklahoma

"This ammo shot very good groups and had no problems of any kind. My XD 40 cycled this ammo well and it burned pretty clean. You will get some of the lubalox coating on your fingers from loading but that is the nature of the coating, it does the same thing for my rifle ammo if I handle the bullet part of the cartridge."

Kimber SIS, March 4, 2009
By Royce

"I put 50 rounds through my Kimber SIS. I didn't have any problems with FTF,but I did have a problem with the inital feed. It's common for Kimber to be a finikey eater."

My 1911 Likes It, February 23, 2009
By Gypsy

"I have shot about 100 rounds of the hollow-point so far and my STI Guardian runs without a hickup.. accurate and clean so far. I use this as my carry ammo as nothing else I have used will feed without FTF's."

great ammo, January 11, 2009
By smoothwaterseeker from Missouri

"I had ben shooting Winchester Target 9mm ammo becuase of the price. I saw the display at BassPro (only place you can get it) and decided to try it.

With the other ammo in my 9mm Taurus 24/7 I had to aim an inch or two high to allow for the drop. with this ammo it dead on straight at 7 yards. at 15 yards it drop about an inch which is great compared to 4" with target ammo.

I'm going to buy more and compare it to the personal protection version.

Powder residue, January 1, 2009
By Oneeach from Maryland

"I bought two boxes of the .45 calibur FMJ. Shot cluster was good and the feeding through my Springfield Armory M1911A1 was perfect. The only down side was the amount of residual powder on my hands. Significantly more than the Remmington, Federal, Glazer, or Hornady rounds."

Winchester SXZ great idea, December 29, 2008
By rfguy

"This concept is great. The training and personal protestion rounds feel identical when fired. I have fired the 40S&W unfortunately; I cannot find the 9mm personal protection in stock at my local Bass Pro."

Simply great, November 26, 2008
By celtlord from Ft Myers, Fl

"Purchased these and fired em through my Beretta 92. They are fantastic. For an experiment I loaded both training and personal protection rounds in the same mag and never noticed the difference. The price and the performance make these great rounds for practice or defense. Besides...they are made by Winchester."

Best Purchase that I Ever Made, August 18, 2008
By rwilson0271 from Norman, OK

"I tested different self-defense rounds(ie. Hornady Tap and Federal Hydra Shok among a few). With the Hydra Shok my XD40 misfed every shot. The shot group was the same with both the training and self defense, tested the 9mm. For $4 more I shoot the same round that I use during conceal carry. Most 9mm defense rounds cost $18 - 24 with 20 or 25, but with these they cost less with 50 rounds. The ammo companies should have done this a long time ago."

"This is top quality pistol ammo with a great idea behind its production. The two types of bullets function the same and shoot identical. I can practice with my personal defense handgun and use less expensive training ammo and know that I'm getting the exact performance of bullets that I'm trusting my life on. Flawless functionality is critical to good ammo and this stuff won't let you down."

NEW Winchester SXZ Line, April 16, 2008
By Anonymous from Davie FL

"I shot these at the range yesterday as part of my "Breaking In" process on a new PT-111 9mm. The training rounds worked very well as I was able to keep a group of 24 within the 9 segment at 25 feet and the rest were all in the 10. I also had great results at 10 feet. I shot a box of fifty and I had no problems with feed or excessive flash. I also shot the JHP and found no difference in pistol performance. I've shot the more expensive brands of JHPs and had minor feed issues. Not what you want for CC.
Great product and very reasonable on the pocket. The only miss, if that can be considered a miss, is the coating from the round depositing on the finger tips when loading. This is now my CC choice.
